Thick eyebrows are currently a popular trend in styling. However, not everyone is naturally born with thick, full eyebrows, or some of us might have over-plucked them for too long, causing them to stop growing back. Regardless of the reason, we can still enhance the shape and thickness of our eyebrows through various natural care methods or makeup techniques. If your goal is to grow your eyebrows, keep in mind that it will take time, so patience is key.
Steps
Nurturing Your Eyebrows

Stop using tweezers. One of the best ways to help your eyebrows grow back is to avoid using tweezers until they reach the desired thickness. You may want to pluck the hairs that grow outside of your eyebrows, but you could accidentally remove some of your existing eyebrow hairs as well, especially if the hair you’ve plucked hasn't grown back yet. It takes about 6 to 8 weeks for eyebrows to grow back, so patience is required.

Exfoliate your eyebrows. Use a sponge or a soft brush daily to exfoliate dead skin cells around your eyebrows, promoting hair growth. Gently rub the sponge or brush in a circular motion over your brows.

Ensure proper nutrition intake. If your diet lacks essential vitamins and nutrients to keep your body healthy, it could be the reason for sparse eyebrows. Try maintaining a diet rich in vitamin B, omega-3, iron, protein, zinc, and always stay hydrated. You may also consider taking B vitamin supplements like Biotin to boost eyebrow growth.
Apply castor oil. Castor oil has been a long-known remedy to stimulate eyebrow growth. Dip a cotton swab into the oil and apply it to your eyebrows every night. Let it sit overnight and wash it off in the morning with a gentle cleanser. Results will be noticeable after 3 to 4 weeks.
Use coconut oil. Coconut oil offers numerous benefits, one of which is its natural moisturizing properties that can stimulate faster eyebrow growth. Dab your finger into the oil and apply it to your eyebrows, leaving it on overnight. Rinse off with warm water the next morning.

Mix olive oil and honey. Olive oil, rich in vitamin E, can effectively promote eyebrow growth. Take half a teaspoon of olive oil and mix it with a few drops of honey. Apply the mixture to your brows and leave it for about 30 minutes before rinsing off with warm water.
- Note: Honey is a natural bleach and may alter the color of your eyebrows if used frequently.
Apply milk to your eyebrows. Milk is rich in vitamin D, a nutrient known to promote eyebrow growth, making it an effective treatment for your brows. Soak a cotton ball in whole milk and apply it to your eyebrows, leaving it until it dries. Then, rinse it off with warm water.

Use eyebrow growth products. If waiting for your eyebrows to grow or using natural methods hasn't worked, you can try products that stimulate eyebrow growth. There are many such products available, and with the right research, you can find one that helps you achieve the desired thickness for your brows.
- Some eyebrow growth products are proven to be more effective than others. If you've caused damage to your brows through plucking, you may need to invest in a higher-quality product. Popular choices include Latisse, Rogaine, and Viviscal.
- However, these products are only effective with consistent use and may only work for some individuals, so they might not be suitable for you.
- Remember, some products are applied directly to the eyebrows, while others are taken orally. Oral supplements not only promote eyebrow growth but can also encourage hair growth in other areas of your body, so be prepared for any changes when trying any of these products.
Apply makeup to shape your eyebrows

Determine the shape of your eyebrows. Before applying makeup, decide how you want your eyebrows to look and what shape will appear most natural. To find the ideal eyebrow length, use a pencil and form a 45-degree angle from the outer edge of your nostril to the outer corner of your eye. Typically, the tail of your brow will align where the pencil and eyebrow meet. The top edge of your eyebrow should be parallel or slightly higher than the bottom edge.
- The start of the eyebrow should line up with the middle point of your nostril. The arch of the brow will be just above the outer edge of your iris when you look straight ahead.
- If you have an oval face, opt for an arched brow with a slightly longer tail.
- For heart-shaped or square faces, go for a pointed brow shape.
- With a rectangular face, a slightly curved brow works best.
- If you have a round face, try an arched brow shape.
Brush your eyebrows. Use a spoolie brush to comb your brows upward, following the natural angle of the hair, starting from the thickest point and brushing toward the tail of the brow. This will help you identify uneven spots or areas where the eyebrows are sparse.
Use an eyebrow pencil. If you want to make your eyebrows appear thicker, choose a pencil that matches the color of your brows or is slightly darker, and gently draw over any sparse areas. Make short strokes that resemble eyebrow hairs.
- Make sure to use the pencil to mimic the natural appearance of your brows, drawing short strokes in the middle of the brow. Don’t just color in the brow, but blend the strokes for a natural look.
- The edges of the brow should be lighter than the center to create a natural effect.
Use eyebrow powder. After applying the eyebrow pencil, choose a powder in your preferred shade (darker powders for a bold look, or lighter ones for a more natural effect). Use an angled brush to dip into the powder and apply it to your brows, working until you achieve the desired shape.
- Be careful not to apply too much in one spot—blend the powder evenly over the brow for a smooth finish.
- Once your brows are the color and thickness you want, use a clean spoolie or mascara brush to comb through and shape the brows to your liking.
Set your eyebrows in place. Once you've shaped your brows as you wish, use a clear or tinted gel to hold them in place throughout the day. Apply the gel along the natural shape of your brows to keep the hairs and makeup intact.
Use powder to define your eyebrows. The final step to making your eyebrows appear fuller and darker is to highlight them on your face. Use a soft brush to dip into translucent powder and apply it around the brows, following their natural shape. This will define the edges of your brows and give them a sharp, clean look.
