Steps
Use honey to cleanse your face

Try using honey to cleanse your skin. Honey is a natural exfoliant, helping to remove dead skin cells without harsh abrasives like salt or sugar. Additionally, it is a wonderful moisturizer, leaving your skin feeling soft and smooth. Honey also has natural anti-inflammatory properties, which means it not only cleanses toxins from your skin but also helps fight acne-causing bacteria.
- Honey is suitable for all skin types.
- However, honey is not ideal for makeup removal. Instead, you can use oil to cleanse your skin. For details on making an oil-based cleanser, refer to the oil cleansing section of this article.
Protect your hair and clothing. Since honey can drip and become sticky, it's best to wrap a towel around your chest and tie your hair into a ponytail. If your hair is short, simply pin it up with bobby pins or wear a shower cap.
Wet your face with water. Bend your head over the sink and gently splash warm water onto your skin. This will help dilute the honey and make it easier to apply evenly across your face.

Pour a small amount of honey into your palm. You'll need about 1/2 teaspoon of pure honey. Gently rub one fingertip on the honey to smooth it out and warm it up. If the honey is too thick, you can add a few drops of warm water to thin it out and make it easier to work with.
Apply the honey to your skin. Use your fingertips to spread the honey and gently massage your face in circular motions. Be careful to avoid the sensitive skin around your eyes.

Rinse off the honey with warm water. Splash your face with warm water and use your fingertips to gently massage your skin until the honey is fully removed.
- If you have blackheads and want a deeper pore cleanse, leave the honey on your skin for 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing off.
Pat your skin dry. Use a soft, clean towel to gently blot the water from your skin. Avoid rubbing the towel on your skin, as this may irritate the skin.
Apply moisturizer and toner after cleansing your skin. A moisturizer helps lock in hydration, and a toner not only balances your skin's natural pH but also tightens pores.
Use oil to cleanse your skin

Prepare a small bowl or bottle. Since you'll be mixing two types of oils, it's important to have something to hold the mixture.
Pour castor oil into the bowl or bottle. The amount of castor oil you use depends on your skin type. Here's the recommended amount of castor oil for each skin type:
- For oily skin, use 2 teaspoons of castor oil.
- For normal skin, use 1.5 teaspoons of castor oil.
- For dry or aging skin, 1 teaspoon of castor oil is sufficient.
Select and mix carrier oils. Castor oil tends to dry out the skin, even for oily skin; therefore, it should be diluted with a carrier oil. Below is a list of suitable carrier oils for different skin types:
- For oily skin, add 1 teaspoon of any of the following oils: argan, grape seed, jojoba, sunflower, sweet almond, or tamanu oil.
- For normal skin, use 1.5 teaspoons of any of these oils: argan, apricot kernel, grape seed, jojoba, sunflower, sweet almond, or tamanu oil.
- For dry or aging skin, use 2 teaspoons of any of these oils: argan, apricot kernel, avocado, grape seed, jojoba, sunflower, sweet almond, or tamanu oil.

Use an oil-based cleanser to clean your skin. The best time to apply this cleanser is before going to bed. Simply apply the product to your skin and use a soft towel soaked in warm water to press it onto your face. Wait for one minute, then remove the towel. Wipe your face with the towel. Rinse the towel and place it back on your face for another minute. Continue this process until your skin is free of oil.
- Your skin may break out after using this cleanser, but this is just how your skin reacts to a new product, and the pimples will subside within a short time.
Remove makeup with oil. To cleanse makeup, simply wipe your face with a cotton pad soaked in oil. Afterward, rinse your face with warm water and follow up with a moisturizer and toner.
Make a face wash from oats

Prepare your ingredients. For this product, you will be washing your face with oats and almond flour. Almond flour helps exfoliate dead skin cells, while oats are a natural cleansing ingredient. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1/2 cup (40g) of ground oats
- 1/2 cup (60g) of ground almond flour
- Optional liquid (water, milk, orange juice, witch hazel, etc.)
- Glass jar

Choose an appropriate container. You won’t be using up all the oatmeal and almond flour in one go; instead, you’ll prepare a small amount with a bit of liquid whenever you need to wash your face. Therefore, you’ll need something to store the oatmeal and almond flour, such as a jar.
- You can decorate the jar by adding labels or wrapping a braided string around its neck.
Mix the oatmeal and almond flour. Measure about 1/2 cup (40g) of oatmeal and 1/2 cup (60g) of almond flour, then pour both into the jar. Secure the lid tightly and shake to mix the ingredients well.
- If you can’t find almond flour or oatmeal flour, you can grind them yourself using a blender, coffee grinder, or food processor. Note, you’ll grind each ingredient separately.

Consider adding a bit of exfoliating ingredients and essential oils. These ingredients aren’t essential but will give your facial product a "luxurious" touch and increase its exfoliating power. Herbs and essential oils help create a pleasant fragrance. Below are some suggestions for ingredients you can add based on your skin type:
- Oily skin: Add 2 tablespoons of fine sea salt, 2 tablespoons of dried peppermint leaves, and 5 drops of rosemary essential oil (optional).
- Dry skin: Add 2 tablespoons of powdered milk, 2 tablespoons of dried calendula flowers, and 5 drops of Roman chamomile essential oil (optional).
- Combination skin: Add 2 tablespoons of ground cornmeal, 2 tablespoons of dried Roman chamomile flowers, and 5 drops of lavender essential oil (optional).
Choose the right liquid. To use this face wash, you'll need to add a bit of liquid. Here are some suggestions for liquids based on your skin type:
- For oily skin, you can use lemon juice, rose water, distilled water, or witch hazel.
- For normal skin, suitable liquids are glycerin, honey, rose water, peppermint tea, or distilled water.
- For dry skin, the best options are milk, fresh cream, or yogurt.

Use the face wash product. Wet your face with warm water. Measure 2 teaspoons of the face wash product and add enough water to turn the mixture into a thick paste. You can mix the paste in your hands using your fingers or stir it with a spoon in a small bowl.
Apply the product to your face. Gently massage the product in circular motions, making sure to avoid the sensitive skin around your eyes. The circular motion will allow the almond flour to effectively exfoliate the skin.

Wash your face with cold water. Gently massage your face to remove any leftover face wash. Cold water will help close your pores.
Pat your skin dry. Gently pat your skin with a soft, clean towel to absorb the water. Avoid rubbing the towel on your face to prevent irritation.
Use a moisturizer and toner after washing your face. A moisturizer will nourish your skin, and a toner will help tighten your pores while maintaining your skin's pH balance.

Store the face wash product. The amount of ingredients provided is enough for multiple uses. Be sure to close the jar tightly when not in use and store it in a cool, dry place.
