When two eyebrow arches meet in the center (also known as connected eyebrows), it can make you feel embarrassed or at least uncomfortable. Asking others will reveal a variety of facial hair removal methods, but you should note that almost all of these techniques require some pain, although it’s usually short-lived.
Steps
Plucking the Joined Eyebrows

Dip a corner of a towel into hot water. Use only the damp corner of the towel to wet the area of the joined eyebrows to avoid getting your entire face wet.
- Another option is to pluck the joined eyebrows right after stepping out of the steam shower. The warm water and steam from the shower will help open up your pores.

Place the damp corner of the towel onto the area where you want to remove hair. Hold it in place until the towel cools completely. Repeat this process two or three times. The hot water will open the pores, making it easier and less painful to pluck your eyebrows.

Stand in front of a mirror. It's best to use a magnifying mirror if you have one. A magnifying mirror will help you clearly see each eyebrow hair you want to pluck, but it’s not essential; a regular mirror is sufficient if you stand close enough.

Start plucking from the area between your eyebrows. Pluck from the inside out on the area you want to remove. If any hairs are too difficult to pluck, use your other hand to stretch the skin at that spot. Be careful not to overpluck. Occasionally step back from the mirror to check and assess how much more you need to remove.
- To find the starting point of your eyebrow, hold the tweezers vertically so that one end touches the widest part of your nose and the other points toward the brow. The spot where the tweezers touch your eyebrow is the point you should leave as the start of your brow.
- To find the arch of the eyebrow, hold the tweezers horizontally near the bridge of your nose and then rotate them 45 degrees. The spot where the tweezers point is where you should shape the arch of your eyebrow.
- To find the tail of your eyebrow, hold the tweezers at a 45-degree angle from the inner corner of your eye and direct them toward the eyebrow.

Trim your eyebrows if desired. Start from the bottom of your current eyebrow and trim upward. As with plucking, occasionally step back from the mirror to ensure you’re not trimming too much.
- Try to shape your eyebrows with a natural arch. For more tips on plucking eyebrows, look for guides on eyebrow shaping.

Apply an antibacterial soap and soothing lotion after plucking your eyebrows. Aloe vera is a good option. Antibacterial soap will ensure that your freshly plucked pores do not get infected (which could lead to pimples).
- If your eyebrows are red or swollen after plucking, apply an ice cube to reduce the redness and swelling. You can also use a cold compress or carefully dab some hydrocortisone cream on the area.
Shaping intersecting eyebrows with wax

Purchase a home waxing kit. A waxing kit comes with everything you need to remove those pesky eyebrow hairs. You’ll use either warm or cold wax to pull hairs from the root. The results from waxing tend to last longer than tweezing.
- Another option is to use pre-waxed strips. This is a great method for those who are new to hair removal. Simply press the waxed strip on the area where you want to remove hair, smooth it down, hold the surrounding skin, and quickly peel the strip off.
- Waxing is very effective, but it can also be painful. If you have sensitive skin, consider applying a numbing cream to the area before you begin the process.

Warm up the wax. Follow the instructions on the packaging to ensure you use it correctly. Typically, you can warm the wax in the microwave, but only heat it for 30-60 seconds. Stir to ensure the wax fully melts.

Apply the wax to the area where you want to remove hair. It’s easier if you have someone else to help, but it’s definitely possible to do it yourself if you carefully look in the mirror. If you accidentally apply wax to unwanted areas, simply wash it off and start over.
- Hold the small brush or pencil upright next to the widest part of your nose. The point where the pencil and eyebrow meet is where the eyebrow should begin. Measure both sides to determine the area that needs to be waxed off.

Place the wax strip from the kit onto the layer of wax. Smooth the strip down. Make sure not to cover any areas where you don’t want to remove hair.

Wait for the wax to harden. Be sure to follow the product's specific instructions to know how long to wait before removing the strip. Depending on the type of wax, the waiting time can be about one minute. The wax should be cool to the touch before you peel off the strip.
- Once again, it’s much easier if someone helps you with this step.

Remove the wax strip. Hold the surrounding skin with one hand while quickly and smoothly peeling off the strip with the other hand, much like removing a bandage.
- Check in the mirror before peeling off the strip. If there are any leftover hairs, you can use tweezers to remove them individually.
Apply cold water or ice if the skin is swollen or red. Use an antibacterial lotion to prevent pimples or ingrown hairs.
- A small amount of hydrocortisone cream applied to the freshly waxed area can also help relieve pain and reduce irritation.
Shaping intersecting eyebrows with hair removal cream

Purchase a hair removal cream. You can find this type of cream at most pharmacies. It is a safe method for use on the face. This option is also suitable for those who are afraid of the pain from tweezing or waxing. Note that this method only removes hair from the surface, while waxing and tweezing can remove hair from the root. This means the hair at your eyebrow intersection will grow back faster when using hair removal cream.

Test the cream on your skin to check for any reactions. Dab a small amount of cream on the back of your hand or another discreet spot. Leave it on for the time indicated on the packaging (usually about 2 minutes), then wash it off. If your skin turns red or feels irritated, it’s best not to apply this cream to your face. If there's only slight redness or no reaction, you can proceed!

Apply the cream to the area where your eyebrows intersect. Use a mirror during this step to ensure you apply the cream accurately. Make sure not to get the cream on the parts of your brows that you want to keep.
- To determine where to start, use an eyeliner pencil or small brush to find the point where a straight line drawn from the outer edge of your nose meets the eyebrow. Measure both sides of your nose. The area between these two points is where you will remove the hair.

Leave the cream on for the time indicated after applying. The packaging will tell you how long to leave the cream on (usually around 2 minutes). Be sure not to leave the cream on longer than recommended to avoid irritation.

Remove the cream with a washcloth. The hair in the area where your eyebrows intersect will be washed away along with the cream, as the chemicals in the cream help to dissolve the hair. After washing, gently pat your face dry.
Shave the area where your eyebrows intersect

Keep in mind that shaving won't provide long-lasting results. The hair in the area where your eyebrows meet will regrow more quickly compared to other methods like tweezing, waxing, or using hair removal cream.

Buy an eyebrow razor, designed specifically for shaping eyebrows. You can find eyebrow razors at beauty supply stores and pharmacies.

Apply a small amount of shaving cream to the area where your eyebrows intersect. Be careful not to apply cream to the parts of your brows that you want to keep.
- You can use an eyebrow pencil to mark the parts you wish to shave. This step will help you apply the cream neatly on the areas you want to remove the hair from.
- Hold the pencil upright starting from the outside of your nose, moving upward toward the brow. The point where the pencil meets your brow marks the starting point. Measure both sides. The hairs between these two points should be removed.

Wet the razor. Carefully shave the part of the eyebrow you want to remove. Shave from the brow line down to just above the bridge of your nose.

Wipe off the shaving cream and any loose hairs with a wet washcloth. Be careful not to get shaving cream in your eyes. If there are still many hairs left, reapply the cream and shave again.
- You can also use tweezers to pluck any stray hairs.
Use homemade sugar wax for hair removal

Mix brown sugar, honey, and water. Combine 2 teaspoons (10 ml) of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of honey, and 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of water in a microwave-safe bowl.
- The honey and sugar will form a highly effective "wax" for eyebrow hair removal. This method will still be painful like traditional waxing, but it’s useful if you don't have a wax kit at home and don’t want to purchase one.

Microwave for 30 seconds. Heat the mixture in the microwave for about 30 seconds on high, stirring every 10 seconds. The mixture will bubble and turn brown.
- Do not microwave for too long. If it gets too hot, the mixture will harden and become unusable.
- If the mixture doesn’t turn brown and bubble, your product will be too runny and ineffective.

Let the wax cool slightly. Allow the mixture to cool until it’s just slightly warmer than room temperature. At this point, it should be thick but still pliable.

Apply the wax to the area where your eyebrows meet. Use your finger or a spatula to apply the homemade wax to the area where you want to remove hair.
- Hold the brush upright from the side of your nose, pointing toward the center of your brow, to identify the point where your brow begins in the middle of your face.

Place a cloth over the mixture. Lay a clean piece of cloth over the sticky wax, ensuring it covers the entire waxed area.
- Flannel, cotton, and similar materials are suitable. Just remember to use a clean cloth.

Peel off the cloth. Wait for the wax to harden and stick firmly to the cloth for about 30-60 seconds, then remove it with a quick, smooth motion. The wax and the eyebrow hairs attached to it will come off.
- If any hair is left behind, you may consider using tweezers instead of repeating the waxing process to minimize irritation.

Apply hydrocortisone cream. Dab a pea-sized amount of hydrocortisone cream on the freshly waxed area to soothe irritation. You can also cool your skin by applying a small ice cube and use antibacterial cream to reduce the risk of pimples or ingrown hairs.
Advice
- If you'd rather not perform the steps above yourself, you can visit a salon for professional eyebrow hair removal.
- There are permanent hair removal methods like laser hair removal. However, this is very expensive and requires a trained specialist.
- Electrolysis is also a permanent hair removal option, but it should be done by a professional.
- Be careful not to apply the cloth and wax too close to the eyebrow line.
Warning
- Some hair removal creams may cause irritation. Always perform a patch test on your wrist or another small area of skin before applying to your face.
- When warming wax, test it on the inside of your wrist before applying to your face. Use baby oil to remove any wax residue. If the wax is too hot, let it cool down before using it.
