Today, Mytour will show you how to control which devices (computers, smartphones, tablets, etc.) can connect to the internet through your wireless access point. The steps may vary depending on the manufacturer, but generally, you can follow the instructions for Linksys and Netgear below to interact with most router interfaces.
Steps
For Linksys Routers

Connect to the router using a web browser. You can access the router by using the router's IP address, just like any website. Here's how to find the address on Windows and macOS:
- On Windows:
- Open the Start menu and click Settings.
- Click Network & Internet.
- Click View your network properties at the bottom of the main frame. The IP address will be listed under the ″Default gateway″ section.
- On macOS:
- Open the Apple menu and click System Preferences.
- Click Network.
- Click Advanced at the bottom of the right panel. You may need to click on the connection in the left panel first to see this option.
- Click the TCP/IP tab. The IP address is the number next to the ″Router″ title.

Login with the administrator username and password (admin). Unless you've changed the login information, both the username and password will be admin.

Find the MAC address of the device you wish to restrict. A quick way to identify this is by connecting the device to the router and then locating it in the DHCP table. First, connect the device, then proceed as follows:
- Click the Status tab at the top of the page.
- Click the Local Network sub-tab.
- Click the DHCP Client Table. A list of all devices connected to the router will appear. The IP and MAC addresses will be shown next to each device.
- Copy the MAC address of each device you want to control and paste it into a text editor.

Click the Access Restrictions tab. This option is located at the top of the page.

Click the OK.

Create a new Access Policy list. This is a list that controls which devices on the network can access the internet (or certain ports/websites) through this router.
- Select a number from the ″Access Blocking Policy″ dropdown menu.
- Enter a name for the list next to ″Enter Policy Name″ (for example: ″Block these devices,″ ″Allow these devices″).
- Click Edit List to modify the list.

Enter the MAC address of the device you want to limit. Add each address to the line corresponding to the respective device.

Click on Save Settings (Save Settings).

Click on Close (Close). This way, you can either allow or block these devices.

Select Allow (Allow) or Deny (Deny).

Select when to allow or deny these devices. To block these devices at all times, choose Every Day (Every day) and 24 Hours (24 hours). Alternatively, you can select specific days and hours to restrict access.

Limit access to certain websites (optional). If you want to block specific websites from this list, enter the URL (e.g., www.Mytour.com) in the 'URL' field.

Limit access to certain applications (optional). To prevent these devices from using a particular port or app, you can choose a service from the 'Applications' menu and click the arrow to add it to the 'Blocked List' column.

Click on Save Settings. The settings will be updated, and the restrictions (or permissions) you selected will begin to take effect.
- To add another list, select a different number from the 'Access Blocking Policy' menu, create a new list name, and click Edit List to add an item.
For the Netgear router

Connect to the Wi-Fi router using a web browser. The easiest way to connect to a Netgear router is to open your browser and go to Routerlogin.net.

Log in with administrator privileges. If you haven't changed it, use admin as the username and password as the password.

Click on the Advanced. This tab is usually found near the top-left corner of the page.
- Different Netgear router models may have slightly different admin interface layouts.

Click on the Security option located in the left column.

Click on Access Control. This is one of the options located under the 'Security' heading.

Check the box next to 'Turn on Access Control'. A list of all devices currently connected to the network will appear, along with links to view devices that were previously connected but are now offline.

Select an access rule. Choose one of the following options:
- Allow all new devices to connect: This option lets any device join the network as long as they have the correct Wi-Fi password. Choose this if you'd prefer to block only specific devices rather than all of them.
- Block all new devices from connecting: This option prevents any device from connecting to the Wi-Fi network (even with the password), unless you manually add the device's MAC address to the list.

Find the device you want to block (or allow). If the device is not online right now, you can click on View list of allowed devices not currently connected to the network to find it.

Check the box next to each device you want to block (or allow).

Click on Block (Block) or Allow (Allow).

Click on Apply (Apply). The device you selected will either be allowed or blocked based on your choice.
