Today, Mytour will guide you through the process of opening XPS files on both Windows and Mac computers. XPS files are Windows' equivalent of the more widely used PDF format. While Windows PCs come with built-in software to open XPS files, Mac users will need to convert the XPS file to PDF format before they can view its contents.
Steps
On Windows

Settings

Locate the XPS document. Navigate to the folder containing the XPS file you wish to open.

Double-click the XPS document. The file will begin to open in your computer's XPS Viewer application.

Wait for the document to open. This may take a few seconds depending on the file size. Once loaded, you can view the document in the XPS Viewer window.
Launch XPS Viewer.Start

Click on File. This option is located at the top of the XPS window. A dropdown menu will appear.

Select Open. This is the first option at the top of the dropdown menu. A new file explorer window will open, allowing you to select the XPS file you want to view.

Select the XPS file and click Open. Navigate to the folder containing the XPS file on the left side of the File Explorer window (such as *Documents* or *Downloads*), then click the XPS file to select it. Finally, click the Open button at the bottom right of the File Explorer window to open the XPS file in XPS Viewer.
On Mac

Visit the XPS to PDF website. Open https://xpstopdf.com/ using your computer's web browser. Although XPS files cannot be opened directly on a Mac without purchasing software, you can convert the XPS file to PDF format and open it using the default PDF viewer on your Mac.
- XPS files are functionally similar to PDFs in terms of layout and content.

Click UPLOAD FILES. This small button is located in the center of the page. A Finder window will open.

Choose the XPS file. Navigate to the folder containing the XPS file you want to open, then click the file to select it.

Click Choose. This blue button is located at the bottom right corner of the window. The XPS file will be uploaded to the XPS to PDF website.
- You can also click Open here.

Click DOWNLOAD. This yellow button appears below the XPS document name in the middle of the page once the file conversion is complete. Clicking it will start the download of the PDF file.
- You may be prompted to confirm or choose a save location before the PDF download begins.

Double-click the downloaded PDF file. The file will open in your Mac's default PDF viewer (usually the Preview application).
