Today, Mytour will guide you through the process of pairing a new remote with your Amazon Firestick. You can easily connect the Amazon remote to the Firestick by holding down the Home button on the remote. Alternatively, if your TV supports HDMI Consumer Electronics Control (HDMI-CEC), you can also pair a compatible HDMI-CEC remote by enabling the HDMI-CEC feature in your TV's settings.
Steps
Pairing a new Firestick remote
Connect Firestick to the TV. You can link the Firestick to your TV via an available HDMI port on the back of the TV.
Turn on the TV. Press the power button on the front of the TV or use the remote to power it on.
Select the HDMI source for Amazon Firestick. Press the Source button on your TV remote until you find the HDMI port where your Firestick is connected. The Amazon Fire screen will appear.
Hold down the Home button on the remote. The Home button, marked with a house icon, is located below the circular pad at the top of the remote. Press and hold the Home button for 10 seconds. Once the remote pairs with the Firestick, you'll see the "New Remote Connected" message on the screen.
- If it doesn't work on the first try, release the Home button and try again. You may need to move closer or farther from the Firestick.
Using the TV remote with HDMI-CEC
Connect Firestick to the TV. You can connect the Firestick to the TV using an available HDMI port on the back of the TV.
Turn on the TV. Press the power button on the front of the TV or use the remote to switch it on.
Select the HDMI input for Amazon Firestick. Press the Source button on the TV remote until you select the HDMI port where the Firestick is connected. The Amazon Fire screen should appear.
Go to the System Settings on the TV. The method to access system settings varies by TV model. On some TVs, you may need to press the "Menu" button on the remote. For others, you might have to press the Home button and then select Settings or Options.
Find the HDMI-CEC settings. Keep in mind that this option will differ across TV models. In some cases, you may find it under Input Settings, System Settings, or similar sections. Additionally, each TV brand may use different trade names for the HDMI-CEC feature. Below is a list of TV brands and their respective HDMI-CEC names:

Activate HDMI-CEC. Once you've located the correct setting in the TV menu, enable HDMI-CEC. Most TVs have this feature turned off by default. After activation, you can use the TV remote to control multiple devices, including the Amazon Firestick and even the PlayStation 4.
