Google Voice offers an affordable and simple method to make international calls from the US. This guide will walk you through how to use Google Voice for making calls online or from your mobile device.

Placing International Calls Online
Visit Google Voice. Open the Google Voice website in any browser. If you are outside the US, you may be redirected to Google Chat or Hangouts since Google Voice may not be accessible in your region.
Log in. In the Sign In section, input your Google email and password. This serves as your unified Google ID for all Google services. Click the “Sign in” button to continue.
Verify your credits. Before dialing, make sure you have sufficient credits. Your remaining balance is displayed at the bottom of the left panel.
Start the call. After confirming your credit balance, click the “Call” button at the top of the left panel to initiate the call.
Input the phone number. A small window will pop up beneath the “Call” button. Enter the phone number in the first field and select the phone you want to use for the call from the drop-down menu. Google Voice will ring the phone you selected to connect you to the dialed number. Ensure you include the correct prefix and country code.
Establish the connection. Click the “Connect” button at the bottom of the window. Google Voice will call your phone to begin the call. Pick up when it rings.
Take the call. After answering your phone, Google Voice will dial the number you entered and connect you to the recipient. Wait for them to pick up.
- To hang up, simply click the red phone icon in the small window.
Making International Calls Using a Phone
Call your Google Voice number. Dial your Google Voice number from any of the phone numbers linked to your Google Voice account.
Start the call. When prompted, press 2 on your phone’s keypad to begin the call.
Enter the phone number. A voice prompt will instruct you to dial the phone number you wish to reach. Enter it using your phone's keypad, and press the pound (#) key when finished. Be sure to include the correct country code and prefix.
Make the call. Google Voice will connect you to the number you’ve dialed. Now, simply wait for the person on the other end to pick up.
