Temple Run 2 is a game inspired by the original Temple Run, with added new features. It is available for free download on both the App Store and Google Play Store!
Steps to Play
Start the game

Launch the game. After a brief loading period, the game's introduction page will appear. From there, you can either explore the game’s menu or jump straight into playing.

Examine the interface. Temple Run 2 has a simple user interface. It's a good idea to familiarize yourself with the buttons and other elements on the screen before your first run. Trust me, once you start running, you won’t have time to look at anything other than the path ahead.

Follow the game’s tutorial. Your run will begin right after you start the game. As the evil monkeys will be chasing you, it’s better to keep running! The goal in the game is to escape the creepy monkeys and avoid the many obstacles on the path. Don't worry, there will be a brief tutorial at the start to guide you through the game.
- The tutorial will teach you how to jump over gaps. You can do this by placing your finger on the screen and swiping upward.
- To change direction to the left or right, simply swipe on the screen in the desired direction.
- You can also perform a sliding move by placing your finger on the screen and swiping downward. This will help you navigate through narrow paths.
- Another method is to tilt your device to make the character turn left, right, or stay centered on the path.

Collect coins. Whenever you see a coin, tilt your phone in the direction where the coin is located. Coins play a crucial role in improving your skills, performance, and other factors that give you an advantage and help you run better in Temple Run 2. They can also be used to unlock useful items!

Pick up power-ups. While running, you will encounter various power-ups along the way. Whenever possible, try to grab these items as they will teach you some skills that can help you run further in the game. Since power-ups are temporary, make sure to use them to your advantage while you can.

Complete objectives. Temple Run 2 includes a variety of objectives, not just running as far as you can. After completing goals like collecting gems, coins, and running certain distances, you will be rewarded with additional items!

Replay. Essentially, this is an endless running game where the goal is to keep running as far as possible. The game ends when the character falls or crashes into a tree. In other words, that’s the moment the game concludes. The game over screen will display several options for you.
- You can share your achievements on social media platforms like Twitter or Facebook.
- You have access to the upgrades page where you can use your available assets to improve your character's skills.
- You can adjust certain settings from the menu.
- You may also choose to revive and continue running.
Explore the mine

Drive the mine cart. Temple Run 2 has introduced a mine section where you can ride through, or more precisely, slide through. Instead of running, you’ll be driving the mine cart to explore the tunnels! This part of the game alters the way the character is controlled slightly.
- Swiping down causes your character to crouch rather than slide.
- Tilting your device helps change the mine cart’s lane within the tunnel.
- No action allows the character to jump while in the mine.

Keep your balance. In many cases, the track the mine cart is moving on may be half broken! If you encounter this situation, you must tilt the cart towards the intact part of the track.
Item list

Understand your power-ups. Similar to the first Temple Run game, Temple Run 2 also includes power-ups that help you run further. These items can be upgraded to enhance their effectiveness or duration.
- Shield. The default power-up, it protects you from harmful obstacles like fire, spinning spikes, rocks, and wooden beams.
- Coin Magnet. Unlocked at level 5. This power-up attracts coins, saving you the effort of collecting them manually.
- Boost. This power-up propels your character forward at incredible speed, allowing you to bypass obstacles, including gaps. However, it also prevents you from collecting coins during its activation due to the high speed.

Unlock characters. You can purchase or unlock new characters in the game by reaching certain levels or achieving specific milestones. Each character comes with a unique ability.
- Guy Dangerous. Free. Special ability: Shield.
- Scarlett Fox. Costs 5000 coins. Special ability: Boost.
- Barry Bones. Costs 15,000 coins. Special ability: Coin Bonus, instantly adding 50 coins to your total.
- Karma Lee. Costs 25,000 coins. Special ability: Score Bonus, adding 500 points immediately.

Upgrades. The game also allows you to upgrade certain features to help you achieve higher scores.
- Pickup Spawn: This upgrade increases the number of collectible items by 10%.
- Head Start: This upgrade reduces the cost of starting with a boost, saving you 250 coins at the beginning.
- Score Multiplier: This upgrade adds a multiplier to your score, helping you rack up points faster.
- Coin Value: This upgrade doubles or triples the value of coins collected.
- Save Me: This upgrade reduces the cost of using the 'Save Me' option, depending on how many times you've purchased it.
Tips
- After each tunnel in the mine, you’ll find a power-up at the exit, so be ready to jump when you see it.
- Slipping causes your stamina to decrease, and you’ll fall behind. Watch out for the pesky monkeys!
- If you fail, you’ll have to restart from the beginning unless you have gems to revive your character. You can collect gems during your run or buy them if needed.
- Save your coins for major upgrades.
- Play the game while sitting. You'll perform at your best when you're comfortable.
- You can view your gameplay stats by tapping the menu button.
- You can upgrade power-ups and purchase new characters by tapping the upgrade button in the menu.
- If you notice the power-up losing effectiveness, it might be time to consider that it has expired. Power-ups can stop working at any time, causing your character to fail mid-jump.
Warning
- Keep in mind that Temple Run is an endless game, and it will continue as long as your character keeps running. There is no final endpoint; your goal is simply to achieve the highest score possible and help your character run as far as they can.
- Don't play for too long, as your eyes may become strained.
