Today, Mytour will guide you through the process of completely shutting down your iPad, rather than just turning off the screen.
Steps
Turn Off Your iPad Using the Power Button

Locate the power button ("Sleep/Wake"). This oval-shaped button is situated at the top-right corner of the iPad when held in a vertical position.

Press and hold the "Sleep/Wake" button. You need to hold the "Sleep/Wake" button for a few seconds to proceed.

Release the "Sleep/Wake" button when prompted. Once the "slide to power off" slider appears at the top of the screen, you can let go.
- If the "Sleep/Wake" button on your iPad is malfunctioning, you can use the Settings menu to power off your iPad.

Swipe the "slide to power off" slider to the right. Your iPad will begin to shut down.

Wait for the iPad screen to turn black. When the screen is no longer illuminated, your iPad has powered off.
Turn Off iPad in Settings

Tap on Shut Down (Power Off). This option is located in the center of the screen.
- Depending on your iPad's screen size, you may need to scroll down to the middle of the screen to see the Shut Down option.

Swipe the "slide to power off" slider at the top of the screen to the right. Your iPad will begin to shut down.

Wait for the iPad screen to turn black. When the screen is no longer illuminated, your iPad has powered off.
Force Restart Your iPad

Know when it's necessary. You should only force restart your iPad if it becomes unresponsive or if the "Sleep/Wake" button doesn't work.
- Force restarting your iPad may cause some apps to malfunction, and any unsaved work could be lost.

Locate the power button. The oval-shaped "Sleep/Wake" button is positioned at the top-right corner of the iPad when held vertically.

Find the "Home" button. The circular "Home" button is located at the bottom of the iPad.

Press and hold both the "Sleep/Wake" button and the "Home" button until the Apple logo appears.

Release the buttons as soon as you see the Apple logo. This indicates that the iPad has been forced to restart.

Allow the iPad to restart. Once the Lock Screen appears, you can proceed.

Power off the iPad as usual. After restarting, the iPad will no longer be frozen; at this point, you can shut it down using the "Sleep/Wake" button:
- Hold the "Sleep/Wake" button until the "slide to power off" slider appears.
- Swipe the "slide to power off" slider to the right.
- Wait for the iPad screen to turn black.
Tips
- If your iPad is disabled or unable to power off due to a software issue, you can use Recovery Mode to restore or update the iPad.
Warnings
- Forcing your iPad to restart may result in the loss of unsaved work or data.
