For fans of the reality TV series Jersey Shore, the Ron Ron is a well-known and popular drink. This beverage combines refreshing watermelon juice with a medley of berry juices, all mixed with vodka. The preparation of the Ron Ron drink is quite simple. Just measure the ingredients and place them in a blender. However, if you're using a low-powered blender, you may encounter difficulty blending the watermelon. In such cases, you’ll need to stop and stir the ingredients to avoid the blender getting stuck.
Ingredients
- 8 cups of seedless watermelon
- 350ml cranberry juice
- 1.5 cups of raspberries
- 1 jar of sugared cherries
- 1.5 cups of vodka
- Ice cubes
Steps
Prepare Ingredients for Blending

Cut the Watermelon. Begin by slicing the watermelon before placing it in the blender. Lay the watermelon on a cutting board and slice it in half horizontally. Then, continue to cut each half into halves again, creating quarters.
- Cut each quarter into wedges, approximately 2.5cm to 5cm wide. Trim off the rind from the pointed end of each wedge.
- Cube the entire flesh of the watermelon into even pieces. If you're using a low-powered blender, consider cutting the pieces into smaller chunks.
- Measure out enough watermelon pieces to make 8 cups.

Add Vodka and Cranberry Juice. Start by pouring the liquid ingredients into the blender first. This will ensure a smoother blending process. Pour the vodka and cranberry juice into the blender initially.
- It doesn't matter which liquid you add first. The key is simply to start with the liquids so everything blends more easily.

Add Cherries, Watermelon, and Raspberries. Once the liquids are in the blender, proceed to add the fruits: watermelon, raspberries, and cherries. Since liquid ingredients go in first, you should add the cherries next, as there is still some juice left in the jar. This method will help the ingredients blend more efficiently.

Add Ice Cubes. You can add ice cubes according to your preference. The ice will chill the drink and create a slightly thick texture. If you want a colder and thicker drink, use more ice. If your blender is running out of space, reduce the amount of ice to prevent the other ingredients from overflowing.
Blend the Ingredients

Start with the Pulse Mode (if available). If your blender has a pulse function, it's best to begin with this mode. Many people mistakenly think they should start with the fastest setting, but this actually slows down the process. Begin with pulse mode to quickly bring your Ron Ron drink together.
- Continue pulsing until the ingredients start blending easily. The fruits should no longer be stuck at the bottom of the blender, and everything should be combining smoothly.

Gradually Increase the Speed. Once the ingredients are blending together, set the blender to a slow speed and let it run for about 20 to 30 seconds. Then, switch to a faster speed for another 20 to 30 seconds.

Continue Blending Until Smooth. When finished, the ingredients should be fully blended into a smooth consistency, resembling a smoothie. There should be no fruit chunks left in the Ron Ron drink.
Troubleshooting Blender Issues

Cut the Fruits into Smaller Pieces if Using a Low-Powered Blender. High-powered blenders can handle ingredients easily, but if you're using a low-powered blender with fewer blending options, it's best to cut the fruits into smaller pieces. This will ensure that your drink blends smoothly, even with a less powerful blender.

Pause and Stir the Ingredients (if Necessary). Even powerful blenders can slow down, especially when blending fruits. If your blender gets stuck, turn it off and use a spoon to stir the ingredients. This will break up the mixture and allow the blender to resume its function.

Wash the Blender Immediately. Once the ingredients dry up in the blender, cleaning becomes much harder. It's best to clean the blender right after use. If the blade is detachable, remove it and wash it separately.

Finally, Garnish Your Drink and Enjoy!
Tips
- While it's perfectly fine to eat watermelon seeds, your Ron Ron drink will be smoother without them. For the best results, opt for seedless watermelon or use watermelon that's already been deseeded for the drink.
- If your blender isn't large enough to hold all the watermelon and other ingredients at once, blend in batches and stir everything together in the jar before serving.
Warning
- Keep in mind that you should clearly inform your guests that this drink contains alcohol. Due to its sweet taste, many people may not immediately detect the presence of alcohol.
What You'll Need
