If your bed sheets often slip off and get wrinkled, it can be quite frustrating. This is a common problem, but you can resolve it in various ways. For example, you can use elastic bands to secure the sheets or clip-on fasteners to hold them in place. Alternatively, you could opt for sheets that fit better or apply anti-slip patches on the corners of your mattress.
Steps
Use elastic bands to secure the bed sheets

Purchase elastic bands for securing bed sheets. These bands are wide elastic strips that fit the mattress and are used to secure the bed sheets at the head and foot of the bed. You can buy these bands online or from grocery and household stores. Be sure to choose the right size that matches your mattress.

Attach the elastic band to the mattress at the head and foot of the bed. Lay out an elastic band, find the buckle, rotate the buckle to the edge of the mattress, then slide the elastic band into one corner of the mattress at the head of the bed. Go across to the other side and pull the elastic band into the other corner. Be sure to tuck the elastic band about 30 cm deep into the mattress. Repeat the same process with the elastic band at the foot of the bed, then lay the bed sheet over it.

Spread the bed sheet over the mattress. Next, spread the bed sheet over the mattress as usual. The sheet will cover the elastic bands and hold them in place.

Attach the fasteners to the buckle. The elastic bands often come with fasteners that can be attached to the buckle. Place these fasteners on the bed sheet at the correct position of the buckle, then attach them to the buckle. Spread the remaining portion of the bed sheet over the bed as usual.
Use bed sheet clips

Use clips to secure the corners of the bed sheet in place. Bed sheet clips are tools used to hold the four corners of the bed sheet. The clips usually have metal clamps or plastic buckles with fasteners. Attach these fasteners to both sides of the corners of the bed sheet, approximately 15 cm from each corner. Then, spread the sheet over the bed and pull the clips underneath the mattress.

Cut a piece of elastic to make your own bed sheet clips. You will need a short piece of elastic, around 15 cm long and 2.5 cm wide.

Mark the spots to attach the elastic at both corners of the bed sheet. Smooth out one corner of the bed sheet, leaving about 15 cm of fabric on each side without wrinkles. Use small safety pins to mark these two spots.

Use safety pins to attach the elastic to the bed sheet. Pin one end of the elastic to the spot marked with the safety pin. The elastic will help gather the fabric of the sheet. Repeat the same for the other corners and spread the sheet over the mattress.
- You can also sew the elastic directly into the bed sheet if you prefer.
Try other methods

Choose the correct bed sheet size. While selecting the right size sheet won't guarantee it won't slip, it will certainly help minimize the problem. Measure the height of your mattress and select a sheet that fits accordingly. You may need a deeper or shallower sheet depending on your mattress height.

Use a zippered bed sheet if you have small children. If your child frequently causes the bed sheet to slip off, consider switching to a zippered bed sheet. This type has a portion that tucks under the mattress, and you only need to tuck it in once. The zippered top makes it easy to remove and replace. With the zipper in place, the bed sheet will stay securely in position.
- For adults, you can use a fitted sheet with drawstrings to tie it tightly beneath the mattress.

Attach anti-slip pads to the corners of the mattress. You've probably seen anti-slip pads used in various places to prevent slipping. You can use them on your mattress corners to stop the sheet from shifting. Simply attach one to each corner and spread the bed sheet as usual. The adhesive strength of the pads will keep the sheet in place.
- You could also use foam as a substitute.

Place a rougher sheet underneath the soft one. If you're using silk or other delicate fabrics for your bed sheets, they tend to slip off easily. Try laying a rougher sheet underneath, such as a flannel sheet, to prevent the top sheet from shifting.
