In this guide, Mytour will walk you through the process of printing a specific area or set of directions from Google Maps. You can do this on both Windows and Mac computers. Make sure to zoom in closely to get a clear view of the streets, meaning you can't print a very large area on one page.
Steps
Print Map

Open the Google Maps website. Visit https://www.google.com/maps/. This is how you access Google Maps through your web browser.

Enter the address. Click on the search bar at the top left corner of the Google Maps screen, then type in the address you want to print.
- You can enter the name of a city, province, or a public organization (e.g., the name of a college).

Select the location. Click on the address below the search bar to load that location.

Adjust the map size by zooming in or out. Click the + icon at the bottom right corner of the screen to zoom in, or click the - icon to zoom out. You can print the portion of the map currently displayed on your screen.
- The more you zoom in, the more detailed the map becomes.
- You can click and drag the map to adjust its position within the frame.

Open the print menu. Depending on the browser you're using, the steps may vary slightly:
- Chrome - Click the ⋮ icon at the top-right corner of the Chrome screen, then select Print... from the drop-down menu.
- Firefox - Click the ☰ icon at the top-right corner of the Firefox screen, then select Print from the drop-down menu.
- Microsoft Edge - Click the ⋯ icon at the top-right corner of the screen, then click Print from the drop-down menu.
- Internet Explorer - Click the ⚙️ icon at the top-right corner of the browser window, select Print from the drop-down menu, and then click Print... when it appears on the left side of the drop-down.
- Safari - Click on File in the Mac menu bar, then select Print... at the bottom of the drop-down menu.

Select the printer. Click on the current printer or click the "Printer" field and choose a printer from the network.
- If you're using an older printer, you may need to connect it to your computer before printing.
- You might need to click Change or Browse below the selected printer.

Adjust print settings if needed. Each printer has its own settings, and each browser has different printer options. You can modify the following options:
- Color - Print Google Maps in black and white to save ink or use color to highlight details.
- Number of copies - Choose how many copies of the map you need.
- Layout or Orientation - Select Landscape for a larger map.

Click on the Print. Depending on your browser, you may find the button at the top or bottom of the browser window. This action sends the map to the selected printer and starts printing.
Print Directions

Open the Google Maps page. Visit https://www.google.com/maps/. This is how you access Google Maps through your current browser.

Click on the "Directions" icon. The curved arrow icon on a blue background. You can find this icon at the far right of the Google Maps search bar (which is located at the top-left corner of the screen). A pop-up window will appear.

Enter the starting location. Type your starting address into the text field at the top of the Directions window.
- You can click on a location on the map to set the starting point.

Enter the destination. Type your destination into the "Choose destination..." field, located just below the starting location field.

Press the ↵ Enter. This action confirms the two addresses you entered and quickly finds the fastest route from your starting point to your destination.

Select the route. Click on the route you wish to take from the list on the left side of the window.

Click on the print icon. The icon is located on the right side of the Directions window, just above the route you selected. Clicking the icon will open a pop-up window with printing options.

Choose your printing options. Click on Print including maps to print maps alongside text, or select Print text only for a simpler text-only version. Printing with maps gives you a more visual experience with directions, but it may consume more ink.

Click on the Print button. This button is located at the top-right corner of the screen and opens the browser’s print window.

Select your printer. Click on your current printer or choose one from the "Printer" dropdown menu.
- If you’re using an older printer model, you may need to connect it to your computer before printing.
- You may also need to click on Change or Browse to select a different printer.

Adjust printer settings if necessary. Each printer has its own unique settings, and different browsers have distinct printer options. You can modify the following settings:
- Color – Print Google Maps in black and white to save ink or choose color to highlight details.
- Number of copies – Select how many copies of the map you need to print.

Click on the Print button. Depending on your web browser, this button may be located at either the top or bottom of the browser window. This action will send the map to the selected printer and begin the printing process.
Tip
- The only way to print Google Maps on mobile devices is by taking a screenshot and printing the image from the iPhone or Android app.
Warning
- The printed version of Google Maps only displays a limited set of specific route information.
