Today, Mytour will guide you through the steps to recall an email within seconds after sending it on Gmail. This feature is available for both the desktop version of Gmail and the mobile app for iPhone and iPad. While Android users cannot undo sending an email, they can enable a setting that prompts Gmail to request confirmation before sending any email.
Steps
On a Computer

Open Gmail. Go to https://www.gmail.com on your computer's web browser. Your Gmail inbox will open if you are already logged in.
- If you are not logged into Gmail, enter your email address and password when prompted.
Activate the 'Undo Send' feature if necessary.

Click on + Compose (+Compose) located at the top left of the Gmail inbox.
- On the classic Gmail version, click on COMPOSE.

Enter the recipient's name and subject. Type the recipient's email address in the "To" field, then press the Tab ↹ key and enter the message you want to convey in the subject line of the email.

Compose the email content. In the main text box, type the content you wish to include in the email.

Click on Send (Send). This blue button is located at the bottom of the window. Your email will be sent immediately.

Click on Undo (Undo) when it appears. This notification will show up at the bottom left of the page (on the new Gmail version) or at the top (on the classic Gmail).
- By default, you will have 5 seconds (on the new Gmail version) or 10 seconds (on the classic Gmail) to recall the email.

Review the unsent email. The recalled email will open as a draft. You can edit or cancel the email from here.

On iPhone

- Recalling sent emails is not possible on Android devices.

Add a subject and email content. Enter the email subject in the "Subject" field, then type your message in the body of the email.

Confirmation before sending on Android

Open Gmail. Tap on the Gmail icon, which is a red "M" on a white background. Your Gmail inbox will open if you're already logged in.
- If you're not logged in, enter your email address and password when prompted.

Tap on the ☰ icon in the top left corner of the screen. A menu will pop up.

Scroll down and tap on Settings. The option is located at the bottom of the pop-up menu. The settings menu will open.

Tap on General settings on the Settings page.

Scroll down and tap on Confirm before sending. The option is at the bottom of the page. This ensures that from now on, emails you send must be confirmed before leaving the inbox, reducing the chance of accidentally sending emails.
- If you see a checkmark next to this option, it means the feature is already enabled.
Advice
- The latest version of Gmail includes a "self-destruct" feature. With this option, emails will automatically disappear from the recipient's inbox after a set period (minimum one day).
Warning
- Setting a recall time frame longer than 5 seconds will cause a noticeable delay between clicking the Send button and the email actually reaching the recipient's inbox.
- Unfortunately, there is no way to recall an email once the "Undo Send" time limit has expired.
