Today, Mytour will show you how to find and redial a blocked number on your phone. Blocked numbers do not display the caller ID as usual, meaning it's not straightforward to return their call. You can use the country's callback code to dial the blocked number immediately after they call you, or alternatively, you may need to use smartphone apps like TrapCall or Truecaller to identify the number first.

Using the Callback Code
It's crucial to understand that this method only works in certain circumstances. You can use the callback code only when the blocked or private number was the last one to call you, but the call may not go through if the number is fake or doesn’t belong to a real person. If using the callback code doesn’t work, you can try tracking the phone number to report it to your carrier.
- Many restricted or private numbers are actually "robo-calls", which are automated calls designed to check if your number is still in service. If you return a robo-call, they will know your number is active, and scams or services could target you.
- If a call disconnects after a private number contacts you, you will not be able to use the callback code to reach that number.

If you're in the US and cannot call back or find the number, and you don’t have a smartphone, you can ask your network provider to trace the phone number by dialing the code *57. Note: You must answer the call you need to trace for this method to work. Additionally, be prepared to cooperate with local authorities.
- If you live in another country, contact your carrier's customer service to ask for the tracing code.
- This step is typically used in serious situations (such as scams or harassment).
Using the TrapCall app on your smartphone
You need to understand how TrapCall works. TrapCall handles blocked incoming calls on both iPhones and Android devices.
- TrapCall offers a 7-day free trial, after which the subscription is $5.95 per month (plus a one-time setup fee of $4.95), which totals around 250,000 VND for use.

- For iPhone — Select Search, tap the search bar, type trapcall, tap Search, then click the GET button next to the app name "TrapCall: Stop Block..." and enter your Touch ID or Apple ID password when prompted.
- For Android — Tap the search bar, enter trapcall, choose the app TrapCall: Unmask Blocked & Private, tap the INSTALL button, and then tap ACCEPT.
Open TrapCall. Tap the OPEN button in the app store or the TrapCall icon on your home screen.
Tap on Start Free Trial (Start Free Trial). This green button is located at the bottom of the screen.
- On Android, tap Sign Up here.
Enter your account details. Fill in the following fields:
- Phone — Enter your phone number.
- PIN — Enter the 4-digit PIN you wish to use for logging into TrapCall.
- Email — Enter the email address you want to associate with TrapCall.
- Plan — Tap on this field, swipe left to right to choose the "Basic" plan, then tap Select Basic at the bottom of the screen.

- For iPhone — Select the Search tab, tap the search bar, type truecaller and hit Search, then tap the GET button next to the "Truecaller" title, scan your Touch ID or enter your Apple ID password when prompted.
- For Android — Tap the search bar, type truecaller, select the app Truecaller: Caller ID, SMS spam blocking & Dialer from the dropdown menu, tap INSTALL, and press ACCEPT when asked.
- Truecaller offers an option to upgrade to a premium account, allowing you to increase the number of contact requests you can receive each month and remove ads.
Open Truecaller. Tap the OPEN button on the Truecaller app page to launch it.
Enter your phone number. Tap the "Your phone number" text box and enter your phone number, including the country code.
Tap the GET STARTED option at the bottom of the screen.
Click on Yes when the option appears. Truecaller will send you a verification message.
Verify your phone number. Open your phone's Messages app, locate the 6-digit code in the text message, then enter the code in the text box on Truecaller.
Create your account. Fill in the following fields:
- First Name — Enter your first name.
- Last Name — Enter your last name.
- You may also enter your email address in the "Email" field, but this is optional.
Tap the Continue option at the bottom of the page.
Enable Truecaller in your phone's Settings:
- On iPhone — Tap Open Settings, tap the "Back" button in the top left corner of the screen, select Phone, tap Call Blocking & Identification, then toggle the "Truecaller" switch to white. You can return to Truecaller by double-tapping the Home button and selecting the Truecaller window.
- On Android — Since the process may vary depending on your Android model, follow the instructions provided by Truecaller.
Click on Skip in the top right corner of the screen.
Grant Truecaller access to your contacts. Tap Allow Permissions, then press OK or Allow when the prompt appears.
Update the spam list on Truecaller. Select the Spam ID tab, then click Update now near the middle of the screen. This ensures that the spam list stays current with the latest annoying numbers.
Keep Truecaller active. Truecaller will automatically alert you to scam or spam calls. You can also view the number of the caller in case you wish to call them back.
- If you receive a call from a private number (like someone else's mobile number), Truecaller may not display the number. In this case, you can try using TrapCall.
Advice
- For spam calls, it's best not to return the call.
Warning
- Most spam calls are robocalls, meaning the voice on the other end is not a real person. Returning these calls is useless and could even result in your number being added to a spam call list.
