Popsockets (phone holders) are a popular accessory, loved for their convenience. If you own one, you’ll find using a Popsocket quite enjoyable! After attaching it to your phone or tablet, you can play around with the poptop (the design part) by pulling it up and down. However, later on, you might decide to remove the Popsocket and stick it elsewhere. This process is quite simple. Just use your fingernail to slide underneath the base and gently detach it.
Steps
Remove the Popsocket

Press the design part of the Popsocket down if it’s extended. Don’t attempt to remove the Popsocket while it’s expanded, as it could cause the base to separate during the removal process.

Place your fingernails underneath the base of the Popsocket. Slide your nails along the edges of the base and push until you feel them slipping underneath. You don't need to apply too much pressure—just enough to get a grip on the Popsocket. You’ll start to feel the base coming off the phone.

Slowly peel the Popsocket off the phone. Hold the Popsocket gently as you pull. Pull slowly and carefully until it detaches. Try working your way from one side to the other.
Clean and Reattach the Popsocket

Dip the base of the Popsocket into cold water for about 3 seconds. Popsockets are small with a strong adhesive, so you don’t need a lot of water to clean and reattach it. Too much water could extend the drying time beyond 15 minutes and damage the adhesive.

Allow the Popsocket to dry for about 10 minutes. Let it air dry outdoors. Place it on a piece of paper or cloth with the adhesive side facing up.
- Don’t leave the Popsocket out for more than 15 minutes, or it will lose its stickiness.
- If it’s not dry after 10 minutes, gently blot the base with a paper towel.

Stick the Popsocket back onto your phone or another flat surface. Any clean, smooth surface can hold a Popsocket. However, note that Popsockets may not adhere well to leather, silicone, or water-resistant surfaces. Mirrors, windows, tablets, and smartphones are the best surfaces for attaching your Popsocket.
- Leave the Popsocket undisturbed for about an hour before expanding or compressing it. This will allow the adhesive to set more firmly onto your device.
Tips
- Don't worry about adjusting the pattern on the Popsocket’s design when moving it. You can align the design by twisting the poptop after it’s attached.
- If your fingernails aren’t long enough or you’re worried about breaking them, use a paperclip or safety pin.
