Slime is an entertaining toy but can also create quite a mess. If your hair or someone else's gets tangled with slime, you might feel concerned as it tends to stick stubbornly. In such cases, there's no need to worry; try using conditioner, oil-based products, or vinegar to clean the slime, and your hair will soon return to its normal state as if it never encountered slime!
StepsUse Conditioner

Rinse your hair with warm water and apply conditioner. You can dip your hair in warm water if the slime is stuck near the ends. Use your fingers to massage the conditioner in the direction of hair growth to loosen the slime.
Oil can help loosen slime, and conditioner is an oil-based product. By using conditioner, the slime will gradually detach allowing you to remove it from your hair.

Use a comb to remove slime. Wet the section of hair with slime, massage the hair to loosen the slime, and gently comb it out. Be careful to avoid pulling out hair while combing.
Rinse out the conditioner thoroughly. Once most of the slime is removed, rinse your hair with warm water. Use your fingers to ensure all conditioner is washed out.

Massage shampoo into your hair. Apply shampoo to the slime-affected area using your fingers, following the direction of hair growth. The shampoo will help clean any remaining slime residue.
Use oil-based products
Apply a small amount of oil to your hair. Spread the oil as you would shampoo and massage it into the slime-affected area. Use your fingers to work the oil in the direction of hair growth, ensuring it penetrates evenly.
- You can use concentrated oil products, such as mayonnaise, peanut butter, olive oil, vegetable oil, coconut oil, or even baby oil.
Comb your hair with a fine-tooth comb. Gently comb through your hair to remove the slime. Be careful to avoid pulling out hair during the process.

Wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner. After most of the slime is removed, head to the shower to complete the process. Warm water, shampoo, and conditioner will help eliminate any remaining slime residue.
- Additionally, your hair may retain the scent of the oil used, and washing will help remove any lingering odors.
Use diluted vinegar
Try to remove the slime manually. If a large chunk of slime is stuck in your hair, gently pull it out first. If you encounter difficulty, proceed to the next step.

Wear safety goggles to protect the eyes of the person with slime in their hair. Vinegar can cause discomfort to the eyes, so safety goggles will help prevent this issue. Ensure the straps of the goggles do not press on the slime-covered hair. The person needing assistance will need to keep the goggles securely on their face.
- Ask the person to stand in the bathtub or shower while you use vinegar to treat their hair, as the vinegar will drip onto the floor.
Wet the hair with a mixture of ⅔ vinegar and ⅓ warm water. You can dip the hair into the mixture if the slime is near the ends. Otherwise, pour the mixture over the hair. Use your fingers to massage the hair and loosen the slime.
- Continue dipping the hair in vinegar or adding more vinegar as needed.
- You can use distilled white vinegar or apple cider vinegar.

Use conditioner to clean any remaining slime. Head to the shower and apply conditioner to the slime-affected hair. Gently comb through the hair to remove leftover slime, then wash your hair as usual.
