This article will show you how to block a YouTube user so they can no longer comment or subscribe to your channel. You can block users directly from comments or choose users to block from your subscriber list.
Steps
Block from Comments
Log into YouTube. If you are using a computer, visit https://www.youtube.com and log in with your account. If you are using the YouTube app on your phone, tap the red rectangle icon with a white triangle inside to open YouTube.
Click on the profile picture in the top right corner.
Select My Channel (Your channel). All content from your channel will be displayed here.
Select the video with the comment from the user you want to block. Comments will be shown beneath the video.
Block the user. To prevent the user from subscribing to your channel and/or commenting in the future, follow these steps:
- On a computer: Click the ⁝ icon next to the user’s comment, then click Hide user from the channel.
- On a phone or tablet: Tap the user’s profile picture, then tap the ⁝ icon in the top-right corner of their profile page, and finally select Block user.
Block from the subscriber list
Log in to https://www.youtube.com. If you haven't already signed in with your Google account, click SIGN IN at the top right corner to log in.
- You cannot access the subscriber list on the YouTube mobile app.
Click on your profile picture at the top right corner. A menu will appear.
Click on My Channel (Your Channel). This option is near the top of the menu.
Click on CUSTOMIZE CHANNEL (Customize Channel). This option is one of two blue buttons at the top right of your profile page.
Click on (number) subscribers (Number of Subscribers). This option is located at the top left, above your channel banner. This will show the list of users who have subscribed to your channel.
- This list only shows users who have made their subscription status public. You will not be able to see users who have hidden their subscriptions.
Click on the username of the person you wish to remove. You will be directed to their channel.
Click on the About tab. This tab is located near the top right corner of the subscriber’s page.
Click on the flag icon. This icon is located below the “Stats” heading in the right column. A menu will appear.
Click on Block user option. This action will remove the user from your subscriber list and prevent them from contacting you. Blocked users will not be able to comment on your videos.
