Today, Mytour will guide you through the process of removing the back cover of your Samsung Galaxy phone. This is part of advanced repair techniques and can potentially damage your phone, possibly rendering it permanently unusable. If you remove the back cover of a Samsung Galaxy, the warranty will be voided. If your phone is still under warranty and needs repairs, it is best to contact Samsung's customer service hotline or visit an authorized distributor where you purchased the device for professional technicians to inspect it.
Steps
For Samsung Galaxy S6 and S7

Remove the phone case/cover (if applicable). If you use a phone case for your Samsung Galaxy, make sure to remove it before continuing.

Turn off your phone. To begin, press and hold the screen lock button and select the Power off option that appears in the menu, then tap POWER OFF to confirm when prompted.
- There is a risk of short circuit or electric shock if you remove the back cover while the phone is powered on.
Remove the SIM and memory card. While this is not mandatory, it is recommended to prevent the hot air from damaging the SIM card and memory card.
- Use the SIM ejector tool or a similar object to insert into the designated hole on the left side of the phone. The SIM and memory card tray will pop out.

Place the phone on a soft surface, screen facing down. This will protect the screen from scratches while you remove the back cover.
- For example, you could lay down a cloth or mat on the table.
Blow hot air onto the back of the Samsung Galaxy for about 2 minutes. The best way to do this is by using a hair dryer or a hot air blower, but be careful not to focus the air on one spot for too long. Move the airflow continuously. The heat will soften the adhesive between the back cover and the phone's internal frame.
- To avoid damaging the phone, direct the hot air towards the back cover and move the airflow in a zigzag pattern up and down.
- Alternatively, you can use a specialized warm compress for this task.
Insert a prying tool into the gap where the front and back covers of the Samsung Galaxy meet. You can use a prying tool, a flathead screwdriver, an ATM card, or any similar flat object.
- The goal is to gently lift the back cover from the top, not to remove it completely at once.
Insert a thin, flat tool into the upper left or right side of the phone. For example, you can use a guitar pick or an ATM card. Doing this will slightly separate the back cover from the front frame of the phone.
- Ensure that the tool is not made of metal, as this could scratch or even damage the phone.
Insert the prying tool into the opposite side of the phone. This will detach the bottom of the back cover, as well as the left and right edges, from the front frame of the phone.
- You may apply more heat if needed.
Lift and remove the back cover. The rest of the process is simple, as the adhesive at the top is what keeps the back cover in place.
- You may apply more heat or slide the prying tool along the top edge of the phone to make this easier.
- Place the back cover in a dry, warm spot to ensure the internal components are not damaged when you reattach it later.
