Wax is great for hair removal, but what do you do if it sticks to your skin afterward? Don’t worry – we’ve compiled a few methods you can try to remove wax with common household items, along with some tips and advice from Veet. Keep reading to find out if any of these suggestions can help you with this annoying situation.
Steps
Baby Oil

Baby oil can effectively remove any wax left on your skin. Pour a small amount of baby oil onto a cotton pad and apply it to the waxed area. Hold it there for about 40 seconds, then try to wipe away the wax.
Hot Compress

Hot water can help you remove any remaining Veet wax on your skin. Soak a clean cloth in hot water (but not so hot it burns your skin). Place the damp, warm cloth on the waxed area and wait for about a minute. The heat from the water will allow you to easily scrub off the wax without any hassle.
Oil-based Wax (Vaseline)

Rub a thick layer of oil-based wax over the wax residue. Leave it for at least 4 minutes, then use a cotton pad to wipe it away. This small action will help you remove the stubborn wax left on your skin.
Ice

Ice can help the wax harden and make it easier to clean off. Wrap an ice cube in a clean cloth and press it onto the wax for about 30 seconds. After that, you can peel off the wax in small pieces.
- Never apply ice directly to your skin, as this can cause frostbite.
Water

Use water to cleanse the Veet Sugar Wax product. Dip your hands or a towel in clean water and rub it on the wax-covered skin to wash it away.
Perfect Finish Wet Wipes

Use Perfect Finish Wet Wipes to remove wax from the Veet Wax Strip Kits. The Veet Wax Strip Kits come with Perfect Finish Wet Wipes specifically designed to clean off any leftover wax on the skin. Just pull out a wipe and rub it over the waxy areas.
- Veet Perfect Finish Wet Wipes contain mineral oil, which is highly effective at removing wax.
Advice
- Before waxing, trim the hair to a length shorter than 2 cm. This way, you'll avoid dealing with excess wax stuck on the skin.
Warning
- Veet advises against using water, soap, or alcohol to remove wax from the Veet Wax Strip Kits. Alcohol is not mentioned in the safety instructions for the Veet Sugar Wax product, but it's still best to avoid using it.
