Find out what to do when Apple TV isn't playing on your Roku
If your Roku device is having trouble playing Apple TV, the issue is most likely due to a weak internet connection or a software glitch. After confirming your internet is stable, restart and update your Roku. Here's how to troubleshoot Apple TV not working on Roku.
Steps
Verify your internet connection.

Ensure your Roku is connected to Wi-Fi. A reliable internet connection is essential for streaming apps.
- Press the Home button.
- Go to Settings.
- Choose Network.
- Select Check connection.
- If the issue lies with your Wi-Fi network, follow the steps to fix your Wi-Fi network first.
Reboot the Roku.

Perform a full restart on your Roku. You can do this through the settings menu.
- Press the Home button.
- Select Settings.
- Choose System.
- Click on Power.
- Choose System Restart.
Ensure your Roku is up to date.

Confirm your Roku has the latest software update. You can check for updates in your settings.
- Press the Home button.
- Go to Settings.
- Choose System.
- Click on Software update.
- Select Check now.
Try using a different app.

Try a different app to check if it's working properly. If the other app works fine, the issue is likely with the Apple TV app itself.
Reinstall the application.

Uninstall the Apple TV app and reinstall it. Select the app on your Roku, press the Star button, then choose Remove Channel. Afterward, download the app again from the app store.
- You may need to log back into your Apple TV account.
Disconnect the Roku.

Power off your Roku device for a few minutes. After a brief wait, plug it back in. Perform another connection test and try the app again.
Verify Apple's server status.

Visit Apple's official site to check the system status. Look for Available next to Apple TV Channels and Apple TV+.
- If Apple is experiencing any issues, they'll be listed here.
