This guide will show you how to rotate videos horizontally or vertically. You can rotate videos by downloading and using Movie Maker on Windows, QuickTime on Mac, or free apps available for iPhone and Android devices.
Steps
Rotate Video on Windows

Download and install Windows Movie Maker. Although Windows Movie Maker was discontinued in 2012, you can still download and install it on Windows 10 by visiting third-party websites and obtaining it from there.
- While VLC Media Player can be used to rotate videos, doing so may result in the loss of audio in the saved video.

Launch Windows Movie Maker, identifiable by its filmstrip icon. This action will open the Movie Maker slideshow interface.

Click on the Add videos and photos option located at the top-left corner of the window under the "Add" section. A new window will appear on the screen.

Select your video. Navigate to the folder where your desired video is stored and click to choose it.

Click on Open at the bottom-right corner of the window. This will load the video into Movie Maker.

Rotate the video. You can click on Rotate left or Rotate right in the "Editing" section of the toolbar. The video will rotate immediately as per your command.
- Repeat this step multiple times to achieve the desired orientation.
- In some cases, clicking Rotate left may result in the video rotating right after saving (and vice versa for Rotate right).

Click on File in the top-left corner of the window to open the menu.

Select Save movie near the middle of the menu to expand additional options.
Click on Recommended for this project at the top of the newly displayed window.

Name the file. Enter the desired name for your video.

Click on Save at the bottom-right corner of the window to save the video with the chosen name. When played on any media player, the video will display in the orientation you rotated it to.
