Today, Mytour will show you how to capture live stream content using OBS Studio or extract and save non-live videos with services like KeepVid.com and Savefrom.net. Recording or saving videos that you don't own or have no rights to may violate copyright laws.
Steps
Record Live Stream Videos with OBS Studio

Visit the OBS Project website. Use the link provided or type "obsproject.com" into your web browser's search bar.

Click on Download (Download), then scroll down and select the operating system you're using. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.
- OBS Studio works on Windows 7 and above, Mac OS 10.9 and later, or Linux.

Open the OBS app, represented by the circular white icon with three commas.
- If prompted to review the licensing agreement, click OK.
- Upon first launch, you will be asked if you wish to run the Auto-Configuration Wizard. Click Yes if you'd like OBS to guide you through the setup process.

Open the live video you wish to save.

Click the + button at the bottom of the OBS window, below the "Sources" section.

Click on Window Capture (Capture Window). This option appears at the bottom of the pop-up menu.

Enter a title for the live stream video you are recording.
- You need to select the "Create new" radio button at the top of the dialog box.

Click OK.

Click on the drop-down menu near the middle of the dialog box.

Select the window containing the live stream video you wish to save.
- If you don't want the mouse cursor to appear in the recorded screen, uncheck the "Show Cursor" option.

Click OK.

Start the live video stream (if it's not already live).
- The live stream must be expanded to occupy as much of the window as possible.

Click on Start Recording at the bottom right corner of the OBS window.

Click on Stop Recording once you've finished recording. The live video will be saved to your computer.
- To view the recorded live video, click on the File tab in the menu bar and select Show Recordings.
Extract video using KeepVid.com

Visit the live streaming website. Use your web browser to access any live streaming site, such as YouTube.com.

Search for the video. Enter the title or description of the video into the search bar at the top of your browser window.

Click on the video to select it.

Copy the video URL. Click on the search bar at the top of the browser, click the Edit option in the menu bar, and select Select All. Then click Edit again and choose Copy.

Visit KeepVid.com. Type "keepvid.com" into the search bar at the top of the browser and hit ⏎ Return.

Click on the link field at the top of the browser window.

Click the Edit button in the menu at the top of the screen.

Click on Paste (Paste). The YouTube link will be inserted into the text field.

Click the Download button. This green button is located to the right of the link you just entered.

Choose the video quality. A list of available resolutions will appear. Click on the video quality that suits you best.
- If you want to select the "Pro" quality, you will need to pay or subscribe to a package.

Click on the new tab or browser window. The video will begin downloading in the new tab or browser window. Once downloaded, you can view the video in your browser anytime, even offline.
Extract video using Savefrom.net

Visit a streaming website. Use your web browser to go to any streaming website you wish, such as YouTube.com.

Search for the video. Type the title or description of the video into the search bar at the top of your browser window.

Click on the video to select it.

Copy the video URL. Click the search bar at the top of your browser, go to the Edit menu and select Select All. Then click Edit again and choose Copy.

Go to SaveFrom.net. Enter "savefrom.net" in the browser's search bar and hit ⏎ Return.

Click the link field located just below "savefrom.net" in the browser window.

Click the Edit option in the top menu bar of the screen.

Click on Paste to insert the YouTube link into the text box.

Click on the > green arrow located on the right of the link you just entered.

Click the download video in browser option. You will find this choice at the lower right corner of the window.

Select the video quality. Click the text to the right of the green "Download" button under the link you just entered. A menu will appear listing available formats and video qualities. Choose the quality you prefer.

Click the Download button. A dialog box will appear, allowing you to rename the file if you wish.

Select the location to save the file.

Click the green Save button at the lower right corner of the dialog. The video will begin downloading to your computer, ready for offline viewing.
