Usually, when you share a live stream, the content vanishes once it concludes. However, you can enable Twitch to save your previous live streams and compile them into a list as "Video On Demand" or VOD (Video on Demand). Once this setting is activated, you can mark the desired live streams and save them to your channel permanently. Today, Mytour will guide you on how to save Twitch live streams as VODs and Highlights.
Steps
Save live stream
Visit https://www.twitch.tv/ using a web browser. Apps do not support this feature, so you need to use the website.
- Log in if prompted.
Click on the profile icon located at the top right corner of the page.
Click on Creator Dashboard (Creator Dashboard). This is the first group of menu options, which includes Video Producer and Channel.
Click on the Channel tab at the bottom of the left-hand menu. This option is located under the "Settings" heading.

- The next live stream will be saved for up to 14 days if you are a regular Twitch user. For affiliates, partners, Prime, or Turbo users, the live stream will be saved for 60 days.
Save live stream as a Highlight
Visit https://www.twitch.tv/ using a web browser. You need to enable Twitch and archive the previous dashboard first to complete this step; if you haven't done so, you can follow the earlier method to activate the process of archiving the used dashboard. When highlighting a previous dashboard, the content will be saved in the Highlights section permanently. You can mark all videos if you wish to save every video on Twitch.
- Log in if prompted.
Click on the profile icon located at the top right corner of the page.
Click on Channel. Your Twitch channel will open.
Click on the Videos tab. This tab is located above the main frame of the channel, alongside options like Clips and Events. A list of all videos will appear.
Click on the All Videos option. A dropdown menu will appear.
Click on Past Broadcasts (Previous Broadcasts). This frame will close, filtering the current videos to display only past broadcasts.
Click on a video to highlight it. The video will load on the page.
Click on the ⋮ icon located below the video, on the right, next to the Share option.
Click on Highlight. The video will load in the Highlight Interface.
Drag the ends of the yellow bar to create the highlight. You can preview the highlight in the video box above.
Click on Create Highlight (Create Highlight). This purple button is located above the yellow bar and timeline. During video processing, you will be redirected to another page. Afterward, you can also change the name and description for the highlight.
Click on Save Changes at the bottom right corner of the progress window. The video may take a few minutes to process, but it will then become a highlight and remain permanently on your Twitch profile.
