This article offers a guide on how to find information on a specific website using Google. You can use this feature to view a list of search results from only the designated website, or if you're using Google Chrome, you can search directly on websites that have built-in search capabilities.
Steps
Use Google

Open Google. Go to https://www.google.com/ using your web browser.

Click on the search bar. This tool will appear at the center of the page.

Indicate that you want to search within a specific site. Type site: into the search bar.

Enter the website address without the "www" part. You should input the information right after the site: tag and avoid spaces.
- For example, to search on Facebook, type site:facebook.com.

Press the spacebar. This will add a space between the website address and the content you enter next.

Enter the words or phrases you're looking for. This is the content you want to search for on the website.
- For example, to search for "discount accessories" on Facebook, your search query would be site:facebook.com discount accessories.

Press ↵ Enter. This action will begin the search. When the search results page appears, you will only see results matching your search query and from the specified website.
Using Google Chrome

Click on the address bar. This is the input field at the top of your browser window.
- Clear any existing content in the search bar (if present) before proceeding.

Enter the website's address. Type the web address of the site you wish to search for information on. Be sure to include the "www" part of the website.
- For example, to search on Facebook, type www.facebook.com.

Look for the "Press Tab to search" message. In the right corner of the search bar, you will see a prompt to press the Tab ↹ key to search the website.
- If you don't see this message, you won't be able to search within the website using Google Chrome's address bar. However, you can still use Google to search the site.

Press the Tab ↹. If you see the "Press Tab to search" message, pressing the Tab ↹ key will initiate a search on the specified website.

Type the word or phrase you're looking for. This is the content you want to search for on the website.

Press ↵ Enter. This will search for the word or phrase on the specified website, and you'll see relevant search results.
Tip
- You can use Google on any web browser.
Warning
