How to Set Up an Internet Network

The setup process differs based on whether you're using a cable connection or DSL service. If you're unsure about the type of connection you're using, contact your internet service provider.

Connect the modem cable to your computer. Ensure that your computer is placed close to the network socket on the wall.

Power on the modem. Most modems do not have a power switch. To turn the device on or off, simply plug it in or unplug it.

• Once the modem is powered on, it will go through a startup process. If the lights on the modem light up nearly fully and stop blinking, the device has finished booting. Usually, one light will continue blinking.
• The modem typically takes about 30-60 seconds to fully power up.
• If the modem is new, you will need to call your service provider and provide them with the modem details, as they won't be able to assist if the device isn’t linked to your account. Look for the serial number and MAC address on the bottom or side of the modem.

Check the internet connection. Open a browser and visit a website you’ve previously accessed, as it will load from the cache. If the website loads successfully, your internet is working. If not, complete the remaining steps.

• Searching for a keyword on a search engine is another useful way to check the network.

Connect the DSL modem to your computer. Make sure your computer is positioned close to the network socket on the wall.

Cắm điện cho modem DSL. Hầu hết bộ điều giải không có công tắc On/Off. Để bật/tắt thiết bị, bạn chỉ cần cắm và rút điện.

• Đối với modem mới, bạn cần gọi cho nhà cung cấp dịch vụ DSL để yêu cầu liên kết bộ điều giải với tài khoản người dùng mạng và mật khẩu. Nếu bạn không biết những thông tin này, hãy gọi cho nhà cung cấp dịch vụ để hỏi.

Đăng nhập vào màn hình quản trị viên của modem. Mở trình duyệt web lên. Trong trường địa chỉ, bạn nhập địa chỉ IP của modem (thường được in trên thiết bị hoặc trong sách hướng dẫn sử dụng).

• Những địa chỉ IP thông thường là 192.168.0.1 và 192.168.1.1. Hãy nhấp vào đây để xem danh sách địa chỉ IP cụ thể.

Nhập tài khoản người dùng mạng DSL và mật khẩu. Sau khi đã kết nối với màn hình quản trị viên của modem, bạn hãy tìm trường PPPoE. Nhập tên tài khoản người dùng và mật khẩu của bạn vào trường PPPoE. Tên người dùng thường là địa chỉ email.

Lưu lại cài đặt. Lưu lại cài đặt sau khi quá trình thiết lập hoàn tất. Đèn internet trên modem sẽ chuyển sang màu xanh lá, báo hiệu rằng bạn đang trực tuyến.

Check your internet connection. Open a browser and navigate to a website you have visited recently; the site will load from the cache. If the website loads successfully, it means you are connected to the internet. If not, proceed with the remaining steps.
