Mytour will guide you through the process of creating an Xbox Live account, which you can use to track Xbox achievements and play online.
Steps
Use the Xbox LIVE website
Visit the Xbox LIVE website. Here, you can create a brand-new Xbox LIVE account.
Click on Sign in (Log in) at the top-right corner of the page.
Click the Create one (Create new) link. This link is positioned just below the "Password" field in the center of the page.
- If you have a Microsoft Account instead of Xbox Live, you can use your Microsoft Account to sign in. An Xbox Live profile will be automatically generated using your Microsoft Account information, and you will be directed straight to the User Agreement page.
Enter your email address. It must be an unused email address; if the address you choose already exists, you'll be prompted to select another one.
Enter your password.
Click on Next (Next) at the bottom of the page. You will then be taken to a page with a code input field.
Verify your email account. To proceed, open the email address you just entered and find the message from Microsoft. Open the email, locate the 7-character code in the content of the email, and enter this code into the corresponding field on the Xbox LIVE website.
- If you are creating a brand new email address for your Xbox LIVE account, you will not need to verify it again.
Tip: Check your Spam folder if you don’t see the email from Microsoft after a few minutes of clicking Next.
Click on Submit (Send). The code will be sent to verify your email address.
Enter your personal information, including:
- Full name
- Date of birth
- Current country
Click on the Next button located below the "Region" field on this page.
Click on I Accept at the bottom of the page. Your Xbox LIVE account will be created. You can now start using this profile to log into Xbox LIVE on any Xbox 360 or Xbox One console.
- If you wish to change any details in your profile (like your avatar or username), click on Customize profile below the Microsoft-assigned username.
Using Xbox One
Turn on the Xbox One. Press the Xbox button located on the right side of the console.
Tip: You can also press and hold the Xbox button on the connected controller to power on the Xbox One.
Open the side panel. To do this, simply swipe the analog stick to the left while on the Home screen.
Select Sign in and click on A. The "Sign in" option can be found in the upper-left corner of the screen. The user menu will then open up.
Click Add new (Add new) and press A. If the Xbox One you're using has already been registered by someone else, scroll left and select Add new.
Press the B button to select an option instead of using the text field on the page.
Select Get a new account (Create a new account) and click the A. This button is located at the bottom of the screen.
Enter the email address you wish to use. This email address must not have been previously used on the Xbox Live system.
Click the A. Your Xbox LIVE email address will be saved.
Press the ☰ located near the center of the game controller.
Enter your last name, then press the ☰ button to save your information.
Enter your first name and press the ☰. Your name will be applied to your Xbox LIVE account.
Enter your password twice. You must click the ☰ button after entering each password.
Enter your date of birth.
Select Next and press the A. This option is located at the top right corner of the screen.
Enter your phone number and click the ☰. You need to provide a phone number for account security in case you forget your password.
Check the I accept box, then click the A. Your Xbox LIVE account setup is complete. You can now begin using it on your Xbox One.
Use Xbox 360
Turn on your Xbox 360. Press the "On" button located on the right side of the console, or hold down the "X" button on the connected controller until the console powers up.
Scroll to the "Social" tab. Press the RB button to continue.
Choose Sign In or Out option and press the A button. This option is located at the bottom of the screen.
Scroll to the Create Profile option and press the A button. This option is found on the right side of the current menu.
Select your storage location and press the A button. If the Xbox 360 has additional external storage, it will be listed here along with the internal storage.
Enter your username and press the ► button. This button is located near the center of your Xbox 360 controller.
Select your avatar and press the A button.
Choose the Save and Exit option and press the A button. This option is located on the right side of the screen.
Note: Feel free to customize your avatar here if you'd like to.
Press the Xbox button. This button, marked with an "X", is located in the center of your Xbox controller.

Enter your chosen password twice. You will need to press the ► button after each password entry.
Select a security question and press the A. You will need to provide an answer to the selected question in case you need to verify your identity if your account is locked.
Enter the answer to your security question. Once completed, press the ► button on your game controller.
Enter your birthdate.
Click Done and press the A. All the information you just entered will be saved. You will be prompted to review the details before finalizing your new account creation.
Press the A. Your Xbox LIVE account has been successfully created. If you ever upgrade to an Xbox One later, you can still use the same Xbox LIVE ID to log in.
Tip
- If you opt to play online, you'll need to subscribe to Xbox LIVE Gold membership for access.
- Don't forget to update before creating your account.
