Whether you're looking to tidy up a little or completely change the shape of your eyebrows, there are plenty of shaping methods and styles to choose from. There are two main ways to trim your eyebrows: using scissors or tweezers. After trimming, you can refine the shape with tweezers to create sharper, more defined eyebrows, adding the perfect highlight to your face!
Steps
Trimming with Scissors

Brush the eyebrows upward. Use an eyebrow brush to comb the hairs upwards. The strands that extend beyond the main eyebrow line are the ones you need to trim.

Secure the eyebrow area that needs trimming using an eyebrow brush. Brush the eyebrow hairs straight upwards. Use the brush head to hold the hairs in place while trimming, preventing over-trimming the length of the eyebrow.

Use scissors to trim the hairs above the brush's head. Utilize nail scissors or hair-cutting scissors to trim any hairs that extend beyond the brush's boundary. Focus on the longest hairs and carefully trim them, alternating the length slightly by cutting one hair longer or shorter than the next. This approach will help maintain a more natural look for the eyebrows.

Brush the hairs diagonally at a 45-degree angle and trim. After cutting the longest hairs, use the eyebrow brush to comb the hairs diagonally at a 45-degree angle. Hold the brush steady while trimming any hairs that extend beyond the eyebrow's natural line.

Brush the eyebrows downward and continue trimming any protruding hairs. Use the eyebrow brush to comb the hairs downward. Trim off any excess hairs outside the lower line of the eyebrow.
Use tweezers

Shower before tweezing your eyebrows. Warm water helps to open the pores, making the hair removal process easier and less painful, which will help minimize discomfort during the eyebrow tweezing process.

Tweeze the hairs in the glabella area (above the nose bridge) and beneath the eyebrows. Ensuring this area is clean will significantly improve the overall shape of your eyebrows, making them appear tidier. Use angled tweezers to remove each hair beneath the eyebrow and above the nose bridge with precision.

Tweeze in the direction of hair growth. Pay attention to the hair growth direction before tweezing to ensure that the hair is pulled out from the root. Tweezing against the grain could result in broken hairs and lead to ingrown hairs.

Avoid using a magnifying mirror to prevent over-plucking. We often instinctively magnify our eyebrows to see finer details. However, it’s important to resist this urge, as it may make you think you have more hair than you actually do, causing you to overpluck.
Choose the right eyebrow shape

Use the inner corner of your eye as a reference point. Draw a straight line from the corner of your eye to the eyebrow, where the line intersects the eyebrow is the starting point of the eyebrow. The hairs growing from this line to the nose are the parts you should trim.

Select an eyebrow style that suits your face shape. Everyone has a unique face, so a one-size-fits-all eyebrow style isn't possible. Observe your face shape to figure out the best eyebrow grooming technique.
- For long or rectangular faces, choose thin, horizontal eyebrows to make the face appear shorter.
- If you have a small or heart-shaped face, thick eyebrows may make your face appear heavier. Conversely, if you have sharp jawlines, thick eyebrows can balance your facial features.
- Arched eyebrows can soften angular features on a diamond-shaped face.

Apply eyebrow gel to smooth the hairs in the same direction. Continue shaping your eyebrows by using eyebrow gel. Brush the gel upwards, moving the brush toward your ears. This step ensures your eyebrow shape stays intact throughout the day.
Warning
- If you accidentally cut or pluck too much, you'll need to wait for your eyebrows to grow back. Take your time with the grooming process and trim little by little to avoid cutting too short or over-plucking.
