A tracking number allows you to monitor the shipping process of your package. However, most shipping companies offer free online tools that enable customers to track packages without needing a tracking number. To use these tools, you must visit the carrier's website and create an account. Once you've registered, simply log in and search for your package using other shipping details. Today, Mytour will guide you on how to track a package without a tracking number for several shipping companies in the U.S.
Steps
Through UPS My Choice

Register for UPS My Choice. Visit https://www.ups.com/us/en/services/tracking/mychoice.page. My Choice allows users to track packages sent through UPS. You can opt for a free membership or a premium membership for $40/year. Click the yellow “Continue” button at the bottom of the membership you choose. After reaching the registration page, fill in your personal details and confirm your address.
- The free version of My Choice lets you track shipments without a tracking number.
- The premium membership allows you to modify the recipient's address and delivery date.

Log in to https://www.ups.com. Visit the UPS website and click on the 'Login' button at the top of the page. Enter your registered account details and click 'Log In.'

Click on the 'Tracking' tab at the top of the page. Once logged in, you can view all your active shipments by selecting the 'Tracking' tab at the top of the page. A list of all packages sent and received by UPS at your registered address will appear.
- UPS links all shipments using the registered address to your account so you can easily track them.

Find the package you want to track and click on its tracking number link. You will be redirected to a new page that displays the package's final location and its current status.
Track USPS packages through Informed Delivery

Register for Informed Delivery on the USPS website. Visit https://reg.usps.com/entreg/RegistrationAction_input. Fill in your personal and address information in the form to create an account. Once logged in, you will gain access to various USPS tools, including the ability to select the shipments you’ve sent and received via USPS.

Log in and go to the dashboard. Click on 'Track and Manage' at the top of the screen, then scroll down to 'My USPS'. Here, you’ll be able to see a list of all items sent and received within the last two weeks.
- USPS will display all packages in transit if the address you used to register your account is associated with both the sender and recipient.

Click on the package you wish to track. Once you click on the package, additional information will appear, including the current location and the last post office the package passed through.
- You can use the dashboard to continue tracking the package, even if you don’t have a tracking number or if the package isn't linked to one.

Submit a search request if the package is lost. If your package has not been delivered within 7 days after the expected delivery date, you can submit a search request to USPS to locate your package. Visit https://www.usps.com/help/missing-mail.htm and click on 'Start Your Missing Mail Search.' You will need to provide the sender’s and recipient’s address, package size, and other identifying details.
Through FedEx Delivery Manager

Register for FedEx Delivery Manager. Visit https://www.fedex.com/apps/fdmenrollment/ and complete the form to sign up for a FedEx Delivery Manager account. You’ll need to provide personal information and a valid address.
- To verify your identity, you will be asked to enter personal details and answer security questions.

Log in to the portal and find the package you want to track. After signing up, visit http://www.fedex.com/ and click on 'Log In' to access the Delivery Manager. You will be redirected to the portal where you can track shipments. Look under the 'status' heading for the package you want to track to determine its location.
- Once registered with Delivery Manager, you can also change the expected delivery date or enable delivery notifications.

Track using the door tag number instead of using Delivery Manager. The door tag number is found in the package details and typically begins with DT, followed by 12 digits. This code can be used in place of the tracking number. Visit https://www.fedex.com/en-us/home.html and go to the tracking section to enter the door tag number.
- In the U.S., you can also provide your FedEx Office order number to track a package. This number is usually found in the shipment's tracking details.
