Today, Mytour will guide you on how to add eBooks to your Amazon Kindle e-reader. eBooks can be added to Kindle from Amazon via Wi-Fi, or you can use your Kindle's email or USB cable to transfer existing eBooks from your computer.
Steps
Download Books from Amazon via Wi-Fi

Ensure your Kindle is connected to Wi-Fi. The Kindle e-reader requires an Internet connection to receive eBook files.
- If your Kindle cannot connect to Wi-Fi, you will need to use the device's USB cable to transfer eBooks.

Open Amazon. Visit https://www.amazon.com/ using your computer's web browser. The Amazon homepage will appear if you're already logged in.
- If you're not logged in, click on Account & Lists, then select Sign in and enter your email address and password.

Click on Account & Lists at the top right corner of the page. A dropdown menu will appear.

Select Your Content and Devices. This option is located at the bottom right of the dropdown menu.

Choose your book. Click the checkbox to the left of the book you want to transfer to your Kindle.
- You may need to scroll down to locate the book you wish to copy.

Click on Deliver. This yellow button is located at the top left of the page. A pop-up window will appear.

Click on the "Devices Selected" box. This option is located in the middle of the pop-up window. A menu will appear.

Select your Kindle. Choose the name of your Kindle e-reader from the dropdown menu.

Press Deliver. This yellow button is positioned at the bottom right of the window. The eBook will begin transferring to your Kindle, provided the device is connected to Wi-Fi.
Transfer Books via Email

Ensure your Kindle is connected to Wi-Fi. The Kindle e-reader requires an Internet connection to receive eBook files.
- If your Kindle cannot connect to Wi-Fi, you will need to use the device's USB cable to transfer eBooks.

Open Amazon. Access https://www.amazon.com/ using your computer's web browser. The Amazon homepage will appear if you're already logged in.
- If not logged in, select Account & Lists, click on Sign in, and enter your email address and password.

Click on Account & Lists at the top right corner of the page. A dropdown menu will appear.

Select Your Content and Devices. This option is located at the bottom right of the dropdown menu.

Click on the Preferences tab at the top of the page.

Scroll down and click on Personal Document Settings. This option is located near the middle of the page. Clicking on the heading will reveal various settings below it.

Click on the link Add a new approved e-mail address. This option is located at the bottom of the Personal Document Settings section. A pop-up window will appear.
- If an email address is already listed here, ensure you know the address and skip the next step.

Add your email address. Enter the email address you use for your Kindle, then click Add Address.

Open your primary email inbox on your computer. This can be any email service (e.g., Gmail) where you have an account.

Create a new email. Click the New or Compose button to open a new email, then enter your Kindle's email address in the "To" field.
Attach the eBook as a file.
- eBooks can be in AZW, PDF, or MOBI formats. If the eBook you wish to add isn't in one of these formats, convert the format before submitting.
- Most email services limit the maximum file attachment size to 25 MB.

Send the email. Click the Send button. As long as the Kindle is connected to Wi-Fi, the eBook will be sent and automatically downloaded to the device.
Transfer eBook via USB

Download eBook from Amazon. If you have an eBook you want to add to your Kindle via USB, visit Amazon and log in (if necessary), then:
- Select Account & Lists
- Click on Your Content and Devices
- Click the ... icon next to the book you want to transfer.
- Click Download & transfer via USB
- Choose your Kindle from the dropdown menu.
- Click OK

Convert the eBook format if necessary. If the eBook is not already in PDF, AZW, or MOBI format, follow these steps before transferring it to your Kindle:
- Visit https://www.epubconverter.com/epub-to-mobi-converter/ using a web browser on your computer.
- Select the appropriate format converter on the left side of the page.
- Click Add File...
- Choose the eBook file.
- Click Open
- Click Start Upload
- Click the link for the MOBI file in the "Download Link" column to download the file to your computer.

the MOBI file. Click on the MOBI file of the eBook to select it, then press Ctrl+C (Windows) or ⌘ Command+C (Mac) to copy the file.

Connect your Kindle to the computer. Plug the charging cable of the Kindle into the e-reader, and the other end into the USB port on your computer.
- Some Macs may not have a traditional USB port; in this case, you'll need a USB 3.0 to USB-C adapter for your computer.

Open the "Documents" folder. Double-click on the "Documents" or "Internal Documents" folder within your Kindle's storage directory.
- You may first need to unlock your Kindle and double-click on the "Internal Storage" folder.
- If you're using a Kindle Fire, navigate to the "Books" folder instead.

Paste the MOBI file. Click on an empty area within the folder and press Ctrl+V (Windows) or ⌘ Command+V (Mac) to paste the MOBI file.

Wait for the MOBI file transfer to complete. Once the indicator light on the Kindle cable stops blinking, you can proceed.

- While it's possible to copy and use EPUB files on Kindle, PDF and MOBI formats are generally more preferred.
Warning
- Avoid purchasing or downloading Kindle books from Kobo, Google Books, iBooks, or Barnes and Noble. eBooks provided by these sites are DRM-protected, making them incompatible with Kindle devices.
