Discover how to move your balance from Cash App to Apple Pay
If you’re using Cash App and Apple Pay, you may have wondered if it's possible to move funds between them. While there's no direct transfer from Cash App to Apple Pay, you can first move your money to your bank account and then add it to your Apple Cash card. Alternatively, if you have a Cash App debit card, you can link it to your Apple Wallet. Keep reading to find out how.
Quick Steps
- Open Cash App, go to the money menu, and tap Cash Out.
- Follow the prompts to transfer funds to your bank account.
- Launch the Wallet app and tap your Apple Cash card.
- Tap the three-dot icon, then select Add Money.
- Deposit the amount you withdrew from Cash App from the same linked bank account.
Steps
Bank Account Transfer

Launch Cash App and tap your balance located in the lower left corner. While there's no direct way to transfer funds from Cash App to Apple Pay, you can easily work around this by transferring money from Cash App to your bank account, and then adding those funds to your Apple Cash account.

Tap Cash Out. It's located near the top of the screen, just below your cash balance and next to the Add Cash button.

Withdraw a portion of your balance. Once you tap Cash Out, use the slider to choose the amount you'd like to withdraw, then select either Standard or Instant Deposit. Tap Cash Out to confirm your withdrawal.
- Standard deposits are free but take 1 to 3 days to process. Instant Deposits are processed instantly, but incur a fee ranging from 0.5% to 1.75%.
- If you're aiming to quickly add money to Apple Pay, go with the Instant Deposit option.

Launch the Wallet app. Before adding money to Apple Cash, ensure that your debit card is linked to your Wallet. If it isn't, refer to this Mytour guide for instructions on how to add it.
- Ensure that the debit card in your Wallet is linked to the same bank account as your Cash App.
- If your Cash App and Apple Pay are linked to separate accounts within the same bank, you can transfer funds from one account to the other (this is typically instantaneous and free of charge, although it may vary depending on the bank).

Access your Apple Cash card settings. To do so, tap on your Apple Cash card, then select the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner.

Tap Add Money. This option is located at the top of the menu, featuring a dollar sign icon.

Specify the amount you wish to transfer. The minimum transfer amount is $10. After entering the amount, tap Add in the top-right corner to proceed to the next step.

Finish the transfer. If Apple Cash selects the incorrect debit card, tap the card selector (located right under the "Cash" heading) and choose the correct card. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the transfer by verifying it using Face ID, Touch ID, passcode, or Optic ID.
- Your authentication method will vary depending on your settings and the model of your iPhone.
Add Cash App Card to Apple Wallet

Launch the Wallet app. If you have a Cash App card, you can easily add it to your Apple Wallet just like any other debit card, as the Cash App card is essentially a prepaid debit card.
- If you have a Cash App account but don’t own a Cash App card, you can request one within the app, provided you’re over 18 and have a valid physical address.
- You can also add your Cash App card directly from the Cash App app. Go to the card section, tap Add to Apple Pay, and follow the on-screen instructions.

Tap the + button in the upper-right corner to add your card. Here’s how to add your Cash App card:
- Choose Debit or Credit Card, then tap Continue to move forward.
- Use the camera to scan your Cash App card or tap Enter Card Details Manually to manually input your card details.
- Check your Cash App to confirm that your card has been added to your Apple Wallet.
- Accept the terms and conditions displayed to finalize the process of adding your Cash App card to the Wallet app.

Use your Cash App card wherever Apple Pay is accepted. You might also be able to transfer money from your Cash App card to your Apple Cash card directly in Wallet, although this feature hasn’t been confirmed by either Cash App or Apple. If you'd like to try, follow these steps:
- Open your Apple Cash card in the Wallet app.
- Tap the three-dot icon in the upper-right corner and choose Add Money.
- Input the amount you wish to add to your Apple Cash. The minimum transfer is $10.
- On the confirmation screen, select your Cash App card. If it can’t be used, it will appear under the “Not available for this payment” section, grayed out.
-
If you want to add money from Apple Pay to Cash App, the process is nearly identical. For detailed instructions, check out this Mytour article.
Warnings
- Avoid paying third-party services to move your Cash App balance to Apple Pay. You can transfer funds for free through your bank account, and it's difficult to guarantee the security of any third-party service that isn't officially linked to Cash App, Apple, or your bank.
