This guide will walk you through the process of removing someone from your Facebook 'Blocked' list on both mobile and desktop versions.
Steps to follow
On iPhone and Android
Open the Facebook app. The icon is blue with a white 'f'. This will take you to your News Feed if you're already logged in. If you're not logged in, enter your email (or phone number) and password first.
Tap on ☰. This icon can be found at the bottom right corner of the screen (iPhone) or at the top right corner (Android).
Scroll down and select Settings at the bottom of the menu.
- Skip this step if you are using Android.
Select Account Settings. This option appears at the top of the menu on iPhone or below the ☰ menu on Android.
Select Blocking
near the bottom of the screen with a red warning icon next to it.
Tap on Unblock next to the username. On this page, you will see a list of previously blocked users, and you can choose to unblock anyone.
Click on Unblock when prompted. It is the blue button located on the left side of the page. This action will unblock the user you want.
- Once you unblock a user, you will have to wait 48 hours before you can block them again.
On Windows or Mac
Visit the Facebook page by entering the link https://www.facebook.com/. If you are already logged into Facebook, this will take you directly to your News Feed.
- If you're not logged in, you'll need to enter your email (or phone number) and password in the fields at the top right of the page.
Click on ▼ at the top right corner of the Facebook window.
Click on Settings at the bottom of the list currently displayed.
Click on Blocking on the left side of the page.
Click on Unblock next to someone's name. You will find the names of those who have been blocked under the "Block users" section of the page.
Click on Confirm when asked to unblock the selected user.
- After unblocking a user, you must wait about 48 hours before blocking them again.
Advice
- Avoid unblocking someone unless you're genuinely interested in engaging with them.
Warning
- Note that after unblocking someone from your block list, you will have to wait 48 hours before adding them back to the block list.
