Toon Link is the Wind Waker version of Link, and his controls are similar to Young Link from Smash Bros. Melee. Initially, Toon Link is locked in Brawl, but you can unlock him by following some simple steps: play solo (single-player) or complete a certain number of battles. Keep reading to learn how to do it.
Steps
Complete the Classic Mode
Finish The Subspace Emissary mode. This is the main story mode in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Choose this option from the Solo screen on the main menu. You can select the difficulty level, and your adventure will begin. You can discover tips to help you progress through Subspace Emissary mode.
- You can complete the Subspace Emissary mode using any character you have unlocked.
- You don't need to fully complete Subspace Emissary, just defeat the final boss.
Vượt qua chế độ Cổ điển (Classic).
Chế độ Cổ điển là chế độ dành cho một người chơi (single-player) trong game Smash Bros. Bạn có thể vào chơi chế độ Cổ điển từ phần Solo của bảng chọn chính.

Enter the secret door. At the start of the Forest stage, you will find a new door located above the second platform. Walk through this door to begin the battle with Toon Link.
Defeat Toon Link. The battle will begin after the stage introduction and the appearance of Toon Link. If you manage to defeat Toon Link in a one-on-one fight, you will unlock him in the Character Select screen for any mode.
Play Multiple Versus Matches
Play 400 Brawl matches. If you prefer not to play the single-player mode, you can unlock Toon Link by playing 400 Brawl matches. You can compete against the AI, other players locally, or even online. After the 400th match, Toon Link will challenge the winner of these intense Brawl battles.
Defeat Toon Link. After defeating Toon Link in a one-on-one match, you will be able to select him in the Character Select screen for any game mode.
Tips
- Select the Easy difficulty for matches to make unlocking Toon Link easier.
- Unlocking Toon Link also unlocks the Great Sea: Pirate Ship stage.
- For a quicker way to unlock him, go to Brawl, select Special Brawl, set Stamina and Flower, adjust the enemy's Stamina to 1, and repeat the last two steps in Brawl.
