Today, Mytour will guide you through the process of updating the motherboard software (also known as the BIOS) on your ASUS computer. You can update it by downloading a specialized file from the ASUS website, then selecting the update package within the BIOS. Note: BIOS doesn't need to be updated frequently if you're keeping up with regular Windows updates.
Steps to Follow
Determine Your Computer Model

Click on the System option. This icon, which looks like a computer, can be found at the top-left of the Settings window.

Click on the About option. This button is located at the bottom left corner of the window.

Find your computer model. The model name will be displayed between the "Device specifications" and "Device name" headings.
Download the BIOS Update

Go to the ASUS support page. Access https://www.asus.com/support/Download-Center/ using your computer's web browser.

Click on the text box labeled "Please enter a model name." This box is located near the top of the page.

Enter your computer model name. Type the model name you found in the "About" section of the System Settings menu. As you type, a dropdown menu will appear with matching results.

Select the correct computer model name. From the dropdown menu, click on the model number of your computer.

Click on the Driver & Utility link. This option is located on the right side of the page.

Click on the BIOS & Firmware tab, which is located near the center of the page.

Look for the available update. The latest BIOS update file will appear here. If the date on the BIOS update file is more recent than your computer's manufacturing date, it's likely that a BIOS update is needed.
- If the file was released several years ago, you may not need to update your BIOS.

Click on the DOWNLOAD button located on the right side of the BIOS file. This will start downloading the BIOS file in a ZIP folder to your computer.

Extract the downloaded BIOS update folder. You’ll need WinRAR to unzip the BIOS archive:
- Install WinRAR if it’s not already installed.
- Double-click the downloaded update folder.
- Click Extract To at the top of the window.
- Click OK.

Copy the BIOS file. After extracting the folder, double-click the extracted folder to open it and locate the BIOS file (usually marked with a white blank file icon and your computer’s model number on top). Click the file and press Ctrl+C.

Open This PC. Click on This PC located on the left side of the File Explorer window.

Double-click on your computer's hard drive. This option is located under the heading "Devices and drives".

Double-click the "Windows" folder near the bottom of the window.
- You may need to scroll down to view this folder.

Double-click the "ASUS" folder within the "Windows" folder.

Paste the copied file. Press Ctrl+V to paste. The copied file will appear in the "ASUS" folder.
