Today, Mytour will guide you on how to add (or "pin") images from your computer, smartphone, or tablet to your Pinterest board.
Steps
On a Computer
Open Pinterest. Visit https://www.pinterest.com/ using your web browser. The Pinterest homepage will open if you're already logged in.
- If you're not logged in, enter your username and password, or sign in with Facebook.
Click the ＋ icon in the white circle at the bottom-right corner of the Pinterest window. A menu will pop up.
- If prompted with the Pinterest browser button, select Not now and click the ＋ icon again.
Click on Upload a Pin. This option is located in the middle of the menu. A window with upload options will appear.
Click on Drag and drop or click to upload. This section is on the left side of the upload window. The File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) will open after clicking.
- If this option is not visible, click the Upload Pin toggle at the bottom-left corner of the window.
Select an image. Click on the image you want to upload to Pinterest. You may need to click on the folder containing the image on the left side of the window first.
Click Open. This option is located at the bottom-right corner of the Pinterest window. The image will be uploaded to Pinterest.
Add a description. If you want to include a description for the image, click on the "Description" text box and enter the desired content.
Click Done. This red button is located at the bottom-right corner of the window.
Select a board when prompted. Hover your cursor over the board where you want to save the image, then click the Save button on the right side of the board's name. The uploaded image will be stored.
- If you want to add the image to a new board, click Create board, enter the board's name, and then click Create.
On Mobile
Open Pinterest. Tap on the Pinterest app with the stylized white P inside a red circle. The Pinterest homepage will open if you're already logged in.
- If Pinterest doesn't log you in automatically, enter your username and password, or log in through Facebook.
Tap the profile icon shaped like a person's head at the bottom-right corner (iPhone/iPad) or the top-right corner of the screen (Android).
Tap the ➕ icon at the top-right corner of the screen.
Tap Photo near the bottom of the menu.
- If prompted, allow Pinterest to access photos on your phone or tablet.
Select a photo. Tap on the image you want to upload to Pinterest.
Add a description. You can enter a description for the image in the text field at the top of the screen if desired.
Select a board. Tap on the board where you want to upload the image. The photo will be uploaded to Pinterest; you can find it later by selecting the title of the board you previously specified.
- You can also tap Create Board if you want to make a specific board for the image.
Tips
- If you don’t want to upload your own images to Pinterest, you can share pins from other users.
Warnings
- Uploading someone else’s images without proper attribution violates Pinterest’s terms of service and may result in your account being suspended.
