This guide will walk you through the process of uploading photos to Facebook using your smartphone, tablet, or computer.
Steps
On your phone

Open Facebook. It’s the app with the white "f" on a blue background. The screen will display the News Feed page if you’re logged into Facebook on your phone or tablet.
- If you are not logged in, enter your email address (or phone number) and password to continue.

Navigate to the page where you want to upload a photo. If you want to post to your own profile, stay on the News Feed page.
- To visit someone else's profile, type their name in the search bar or find their name on the News Feed and tap on it to access their profile.

Tap Photo on iPhone or Photo/Video on Android. On Android, tap the status box (that says "What's on your mind?") at the top of the News Feed before selecting Photo/Video.
- If you're on your own Timeline, just select Photo under the status box.
- If you want to post on someone else's profile, select Share Photo.

Select the photos you want to upload. Tap each photo you wish to upload to choose multiple images at once.

Tap Done in the top-right corner of the screen. This will create a draft post with your selected images attached.

Edit your post. You can add a caption by typing in the box that says "Say something about this photo," or you can add more images by tapping the green landscape icon at the bottom of the screen and selecting Photo/Video.
- To create a new album with the photos in your post, tap + Album at the top and select Create Album.
- If you'd like to make your post public, tap the Friends or Friends of Friends box below your name and choose Public.

To create a post and upload the selected photo to Facebook, click the Post button located at the top-right corner of your screen.
On your computer, go to https://www.facebook.com/ in the browser’s address bar. This will bring you to your Facebook News Feed, provided you're logged in.

If you’re not logged in yet, you'll need to enter your email and password to proceed.

If you want to post the photo on your personal page, stay on your News Feed. Alternatively, to visit a friend's profile page, simply search for their name in the search bar or find it on the News Feed and click on their name to access their page.

Click the Photo/Video button beneath the “What’s on your mind?” box at the top of the page. Clicking this will open a new window where you can upload your content.

Select the images you want to post. If you'd like to upload multiple images, hold down the Ctrl key (or ⌘ Command key on a Mac) and click each image you want to select.
- If your computer doesn't open the default image folder, make sure to choose the file on the left side of the window first.

Click on the Open button at the bottom right corner of the window. This will upload your selected images to the draft post.

Edit your post. You can add more images by clicking the square with the + symbol near the top of the post window, or add text by typing in the "Say something about this photo" box.
- If you want to make your post public, click on the Friends or Friends of Friends dropdown in the bottom left of the post and select Public.
- You can also click + Album and choose Create Album to group your images into a specific album.

Click the Post button at the bottom right of the post window. This will publish your images to the selected Facebook page.
Tip
You can also add images to your comment by clicking on the camera icon located either to the left or right of the comment box.
Warning
Do not post images that violate Facebook’s terms of service, such as those containing violent, extremist, or obscene content.
