This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to upload photos from your computer or phone to popular image-sharing websites and social media platforms. It covers services such as Flickr and Imgur for photo sharing, along with social networks like Facebook and Instagram, as well as cloud storage options such as Google Drive and iCloud.
Steps
Using Websites and Applications

Launch the website or app you intend to use. To upload images to the web, start by opening a platform that supports photo uploads. Image-hosting websites, social media platforms, and cloud storage services all provide this feature.
- If a login is required to post, make sure you are signed in before proceeding.
- If you're new to the service, you might need to create an account before continuing.

Locate the "Upload" section. This section may appear in different places, but most websites or apps will allow you to upload directly from the homepage.

Click or tap the "Upload" button. The upload button might be labeled Upload Photo, but often you'll need to choose the camera icon or an upward arrow somewhere in the "Upload" section.
- For example: On Facebook, you'll first need to select the status box and then click Photo/Video beneath it.

Select the image to upload. On a computer, you'll likely need to click on the Pictures or Photos section in the window that pops up, choose the image you wish to upload, and click Open.
- On most phones and tablets, tapping the "Upload Photo" option will immediately open the Camera Roll (photo storage folder). Then, you can tap the image and tap Upload (or a similar button).

Post the image. Click the option or button labeled "Post". Sometimes, this button might be labeled Upload, or in other websites/apps, it could be an upward arrow.
- Many websites and apps offer options to edit the image or add a caption before uploading.
