If you're looking to upload videos that are openly licensed but not under the CC BY license to a video repository on the Internet, Vimeo is an essential platform you shouldn't miss.

Steps

Visit the Vimeo homepage. Go to the Vimeo homepage at https://vimeo.com/creativecommons.

Log into Vimeo. On the homepage, click the Login button to open the login screen. Enter your personal details in the appropriate fields and then click the button:

Login with email - Log in using your email address. Or click the button:
Login with Facebook - Log in with Facebook. If you choose this method, you will be directed to your personal Vimeo page, where you can start uploading your video files.

Click the Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, or Box button if the video file you want to upload is stored in any of these locations. This will help you locate the folder containing the file you wish to upload.

Fill in the description details for the selected video file to be uploaded.

Title - Enter the name. Type the name of the selected video file in this field. For example: OpenShot-Test1.

Description - Enter a description. Type the description of the selected video file to upload in this field. For example: Creating a video in OpenShot.

Privacy - Privacy settings. For example, from the dropdown menu, you select Anyone can see this video - Anyone can view this video.

Language - Language. For example, from the dropdown menu, you select Vietnamese - Vietnamese.

Tags - Tags. For example, you type in: OER, Edu. Remember that tags are separated by commas.

Content rating - Content rating. For example, you choose: All Audiences - All audiences.

Click the Save button to save all the video description properties you just typed or selected.

Manage videos

View the uploaded file. In the video management screen (Manage videos), click on the video you want to view to be directed to a new screen where you can play the video by clicking the Play button.

Recommendations

If you combine two or more videos and/or images with different licenses into a video project to create a derivative work with a valid open license, but not under the CC BY license, Vimeo can be a great platform to upload your video.
