How to use a computer to delete multiple Instagram photos

This article explains how you can use your computer to delete photos from your Instagram account. You can do this on both Windows and Mac computers using Bluestacks or by accessing Instagram's mobile version through Google Chrome’s Developer Tools. You can also delete photos on a Windows 10 PC via the Instagram app. It's important to note that there is no way to delete multiple photos at once on any version of Instagram, and any service claiming to allow you to do so is fraudulent.

Understand the process. While you can use Bluestacks, an Android emulator, to delete photos from Instagram, you still can’t remove multiple photos at once.

• There is no way to delete multiple Instagram photos at the same time because Instagram has blocked any extensions, apps, or services that could previously make this possible.

Install Bluestacks on your computer. Go to https://www.bluestacks.com/ and click on the green Download BlueStacks button. After downloading, double-click the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions.

• On Mac, you will need to verify the installation.

Download the Instagram APK file. Bluestacks does not allow you to install Instagram directly from the Google Play Store, so you need to download the Instagram APK file and install it manually:

• Visit https://apkpure.com/instagram/com.instagram.android using your computer’s browser.
• Click Download APK.
• Allow the APK to download.

Open Bluestacks. Click or double-click on the Bluestacks app, which has an icon of green, yellow, and blue stacked cards.

Select the Instagram APK. Go to the folder where the APK file you just downloaded is stored, then click to select the file.

Open Instagram. Click on the Instagram app, which features a multicolored square camera icon.

• If this action prompts Bluestacks to restart with a different graphics card, click Restart and wait for Bluestacks to complete this process before continuing.

Enter your Instagram login details. Click the "Phone number, email or username" field and enter your Instagram username (or email or phone number), then click the "Password" field and type in your Instagram password, and click Log In to proceed.

Open an Incognito window in Google Chrome. If Chrome is not already open, launch it, click the ⋮ icon at the top right corner of the window, and choose New incognito window from the options list.

• You can also press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+⇧ Shift+N (Windows) or ⌘ Command+⇧ Shift+N (Mac) to open a new incognito window.

Open the Developer Tools window. Right-click on any blank area of the page and select Inspect from the options menu. The Developer Tools window will open on the right side of the page.

• If your computer does not distinguish between left and right clicks, use two fingers to click the mouse, tap the right side of the button, or tap with two fingers on the touchpad.

Click on the "mobile device" icon. This icon, which looks like two rectangles, is located in the top left corner of the Developer Tools window. Once clicked, the icon will turn blue, and the Chrome window will switch to mobile view.

• If the icon is already blue, mobile view is already active.

Access the Instagram website. Click the address bar at the top of the Chrome window, replace the current URL with https://www.instagram.com/, and press ↵ Enter.

Log in to Instagram. Click the Log in link near the bottom of the page, enter your username (or email or phone number) and password, then click Log in.

Select the photo. Find and click on the image you want to delete. The photo will open in fullscreen view.

Click the ⋯ icon at the top-right corner of the photo to open the options menu.

Click the Delete option in the displayed window.

Click Delete when prompted to remove the photo from your Instagram account. The image won’t disappear immediately from the current window, but after refreshing the page or opening your profile in the Instagram app, the image will be gone.

• You’ll need to click the profile icon once more to exit the image view.

Repeat the deletion process for each photo you wish to remove. For every photo you want to delete, open the photo, click ⋯, click Delete twice, and exit by clicking the profile icon.

Type instagram in the Start menu. This will search for the Instagram app on your computer.

Click on Instagram at the top of the Start menu to open the Instagram login page.

Log in to Instagram. Click on the Log in link near the bottom of the page, enter your username (or email address or phone number) and password, then click Log in.

• If you're already logged in, you can skip this step.

Select a photo. Find and click on the image you want to delete to open it.

Click on ⋯ in the top right corner of the image. This will open a menu below the window.

Repeat the deletion process for other photos. While you can't delete multiple images at once, you can quickly remove them by opening each one individually and performing the deletion steps.

• There is no Instagram app for Mac computers.

• Avoid apps that claim you can delete multiple photos at once.
