Here are a few reasons why you might resort to black magic:
- To stop an enemy's actions. If you are being harmed and wish to stop it, you may use a binding spell to halt their actions.
- To make someone fall in love with you. The love spell is the most commonly used in dark magic rituals.
- To gain immortality or improve health.
- To communicate with spirits.
Master the basics of dark magic rituals. The type of ritual you wish to perform for dark magic depends on the desired outcome. From chanting spells for good health to resurrecting the dead, each has its own ritual. Most rituals include the following elements:

Perform the Ritual

Cast the Spell
Craft a Substitute Effigy. Take black fabric and cut two pieces in the shape of a human, but small in size. The pieces should resemble the person you wish to curse. Stitch the edges, leaving the head open.
- Black fabric is the most common choice, but other colors can be used if preferred.
- The effigy should be made from natural materials. Avoid using synthetic fabrics like polyester as magic spells are less effective on such materials.
Stuff the Effigy. Fill it with a bit of dirt, some crystal beads, hair, and nails from the person you intend to curse. Once done, sew up the head of the effigy.
- Ideally, use something the person has touched. If you can’t get hair or nails, try to find something they’ve owned or touched, like clothes or even a note they wrote.
Prepare the Sacred Circle. Draw a circle with chalk or a stick, and inside it, draw a five-pointed star. Alternatively, you can draw it on a large piece of paper that is big enough for you to stand on. Light candles around the circle before stepping inside.
- Magical candles are believed to amplify the spell's power by representing different elements: fire, air (which fuels fire), water (liquid wax), and earth (solid wax). As you light the candles, focus your intentions into the spell.
Stand Inside the Circle and Recite the Incantation Over the Effigy. Repeat the incantation three times. Below are some examples of incantations to curse:
- For a binding spell that restricts someone’s actions, recite the following: "I bind your feet so you cannot harm me. I bind your hands so you cannot harm me. I seal your mouth so you cannot speak ill and harm me. I lock your mind's power so you cannot harm me." Say this while tightly wrapping the effigy with black fabric.
- For a love spell for someone you desire, say the following aloud, “Illuminate the pink light. Ignite the flames. The red color symbolizes longing and desire.”
Let the Candles Burn Completely. Once the candles have burnt out, the love spell has been cast.
