Do you want to use WhatsApp on your Apple Watch? Although there is no official WhatsApp app for Apple Watch, it works seamlessly with your iPhone, allowing you to receive and respond to new message notifications while wearing your watch. Today, Mytour will guide you on how to get WhatsApp notifications on your Apple Watch and suggest some third-party apps you might want to consider.
Steps
Is there a WhatsApp app for Apple Watch?

There is no official WhatsApp app for Apple Watch. However, you can still receive WhatsApp notifications and even reply to new messages from your Apple Watch if you mirror notifications from your iPhone.

Features may change. Meta, the company that owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, has announced plans to integrate all conversations across different platforms. This means that the development of an official WhatsApp app for Apple Watch may temporarily be put on hold.
- Since WhatsApp is about to be integrated with other social platforms, any third-party apps claiming to make WhatsApp work on Apple Watch will soon become irrelevant.
Receiving WhatsApp Notifications on Apple Watch

Connect your Apple Watch to your iPhone via Bluetooth. To enable Bluetooth on your iPhone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and toggle the switch to turn it on (the switch will turn green). Then, continue the pairing process on your Apple Watch.

Allow notifications. Go to Settings > Notifications > WhatsApp and toggle the switch next to "Allow Notifications" to enable this option (the switch will turn green and move to the right).
- Tap to enable all three types of notifications: Lock Screen, Banners, and Notification Center.

Set up to mirror WhatsApp notifications. On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app, go to Notifications, and find the section labeled "Mirror iPhone Alerts From". Then, toggle the switch next to WhatsApp to enable this option.
- Once you've completed these steps on your iPhone, WhatsApp notifications (such as new messages) will also appear on your Apple Watch.
Receiving WhatsApp Notifications on Apple Watch

Tap the message notification to read it. The notification will appear on the watch face after you have set up notifications on your Apple Watch.
- You can only access new messages this way; previous messages will not be available.
- Images and videos will appear blurry on the watch screen, and you will need to access your phone to view them.
- Additionally, you cannot listen to voice messages on the watch.

Tap Reply (Reply). If you do not wish to reply, you can tap Dismiss (Dismiss) to remove the message from the screen. The message will be marked as read on WhatsApp and will no longer be visible on your Apple Watch.
- You can reply in one of three ways:
- Use suggested responses. Pre-written replies are available for you to send.
- Write directly on the watch face to convert your words into text. However, Apple Watch may not accurately interpret your handwriting.
- Tap the microphone icon to record your response.
Is there a third-party WhatsApp app for Apple Watch?

WatchChat 2 brings many missing WhatsApp features to Apple Watch. With the free version, you can view up to 3 recent conversations, but if you want to access more, you will need to upgrade to the paid version.
- With WatchChat, you can read old messages, listen to and send voice messages, and even type using the old keyboard style.
- To install the app on your Apple Watch, you need to download WatchChat 2 from the App Store on the watch. Once the app is installed, open WhatsApp on your iPhone, go to Settings, and then tap the QR code icon at the top right to scan the QR code displayed on the Apple Watch with your iPhone.
- Note: Since third-party apps cannot predict future changes in the official app, some features may become unavailable over time.

In addition to WatchChat, there are alternative apps like Chatify and WhatsUp. Although these third-party options may not be highly rated, you can still download them from the App Store if necessary.
