This guide explains how to view the list of your closest friends on Facebook. This group includes those you interact with and search for frequently. Keep in mind that Facebook uses an algorithm to determine your closest friends, and this algorithm is updated regularly.
Steps
On Mobile

Open Facebook. Tap on the app with the white "f" icon on a blue background to open Facebook. This will take you to the News Feed if you are logged in.
- If you're not logged in, enter your email address and password before proceeding.

Tap on ☰. This button appears as three horizontal lines at the bottom right corner (on iPhone/iPad) or top right corner (on Android). Alternatively, you can find the "Friends" button above and tap it.

Scroll down and tap on the Find Friends button, then tap All Friends. This option will appear at the top of the page.

View your friends list. Anyone appearing near the top of the list is considered one of your closest friends by Facebook.
- You typically interact more frequently with people at the top of the list than those at the bottom.
- Generally, the top 5-10 people are those you contact most often. This is determined by the interactions between you and them, not necessarily vice versa.
On Desktop

Open Facebook by visiting https://www.facebook.com/ to access your News Feed if you're already logged into Facebook.
- If you're not logged in, first enter your email and password in the top right corner of the page.

Click on your name tag. This is the tag at the top left of your Facebook page displaying your name. Clicking it will take you to your profile page.

Click on the Friends option beneath the cover photo at the top of your page to open the friends list.

View your friends list. Anyone listed near the top is considered one of your closest friends by Facebook (someone you often communicate with).
- The first 5-10 people in the list are typically those you contact frequently. This is determined by your interactions with them, not necessarily their interactions with you.
- Names at the bottom of the list are generally those you interact with less often; the only exception is if you recently added someone and immediately started chatting with them or viewing their posts.
Tips
- If you've added someone to your "Close Friends" list on Facebook, they will automatically appear closer to the top of your list compared to others you haven't added to the "Close Friends" list.
- You can use your browser's source code to track Facebook interactions with your close friends, but the information won't be any different from what you see in your friends list.
Warning
- Do not install any Facebook apps that claim to be able to track visitors to your personal profile. Facebook does not reveal how it tracks profile viewers, so any app that makes such a claim is either a scam or, worse, could contain malware.
