ESPN is one of the most popular cable TV networks worldwide, broadcasting a variety of sports channels around the clock. If you have an ESPN subscription through your cable provider, you can log in to the ESPN app or website using your provided account details to watch ESPN. If you don’t have a subscription, you can explore third-party streaming apps like Kodi. This article will guide you on how to stream ESPN online via the internet.
Steps
Use the Official ESPN App

Download the official ESPN app. Follow these steps to download and install the official ESPN app for tablets and smartphones, including iPhone, iPad, and Android devices:
- Open the App Store on iPhone and iPad or the Google Play Store on Android smartphones and tablets.
- Tap on Search (only on iPhone).
- Type "ESPN" into the search bar.
- Tap GET or Install next to the ESPN app.

Launch the ESPN app. The ESPN app features a red "E" logo on a white background. You can tap this icon on your home screen or app drawer, or select OPEN in the App Store or Google Play Store after downloading and installing the app.
- When you open ESPN for the first time, it may ask for permission to access photos, media files, and your device's location. Tap Allow (or Allow Only While Using the App) to proceed.

Tap on Sign Up or Log In. If you already have an ESPN account, tap Log In and enter your username or email address along with the password linked to your account. If you don’t have an account, tap Sign Up, input your email address and desired password, then tap Sign Up to create an account.

Tap on your favorite league and select Next. During your first login, ESPN will prompt you to select your favorite leagues (such as NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB, UFC, etc.). Tap on the leagues you want to receive notifications for, then tap Next at the bottom right.
- Alternatively, you can tap Skip at the bottom right if you don’t wish to receive notifications for any league.

Tap on your favorite team and select Finish. Tap on one of the listed leagues on the left to choose a specific sport. Then, tap on the icon of your favorite team. You can select as many teams as you like. Tap Finish at the bottom right when you’re done.
Watch

Tap on a video. Numerous live ESPN channel videos are available at the top of the page. You can scroll down to view early broadcasts of TV episodes and short clips. You can also browse videos by sport or team.

Tap on Sign In with TV Provider (Android only). On Android, you can preview videos for a few minutes before logging in with your TV provider credentials. If you are allowed to preview videos without logging in, tap the blue Sign In with TV Provider button (or Manage TV Provider) to log in.

Tap on your TV provider. Select the company that provides your live TV service. This could be your satellite or cable provider (such as Xfinity, Verizon Fios, CenturyLink, DirecTV, Dish) or a live TV streaming service (like Hulu +, YouTube TV, Sling TV).
- If you don’t have a TV provider, tap Get a TV Provider to see a list of live TV services you can subscribe to. This includes internet-based services, as well as local cable and satellite providers.

Enter your TV provider account details. In some cases, the ESPN app may automatically detect your TV provider through your wireless internet connection. If not, enter the username and password associated with your TV provider account to confirm your subscription.


Use a TV streaming app

Open a live TV streaming app. Most cable and satellite TV providers offer apps that allow you to download and stream live TV over the internet. Examples include Xfinity Stream, Fios TV, DirecTV App, and Dish Anywhere. If you don’t use a cable or satellite provider, you can subscribe to services like Hulu +, YouTube TV, or Sling TV.
- You can download these apps from the App Store on iPhone and iPad, or the Google Play Store on Android smartphones and tablets.
- You can also stream live TV through a web browser on the official website of your TV provider.
- Contact your TV provider to ensure your subscription includes ESPN.

Log in to your account. Enter the username or email and password associated with your TV provider to access the live TV streaming app.
- For cable and satellite TV apps, you may need to create a new account. Tap Sign Up, Create account, or a similar option, then fill out the form with your account details, username or email, and desired password to set up your account.

Tap the option to view the TV guide. Each app may vary slightly, but there are usually tabs at the bottom that let you access different viewing options. Tap on options like TV, Live, Live TV, Guide, Watch Now, or something similar.

Scroll down and tap on an ESPN channel. The channel list will differ depending on your provider. Scroll until you find an ESPN channel, then tap on it. This will either start streaming the channel or display a pop-up with a Watch, Stream, or similar button. Tap the option to begin watching.
- There are multiple ESPN channels. Your TV package may not include all of them. Check with your provider to see which packages are available.
Visit ESPN.com

Visit https://www.espn.com using a web browser. This is the official website of ESPN.

Click on Watch. This tab is located on the right side of the menu bar near the top of the browser window.

Click on a video. Numerous live ESPN channel videos are available at the top of the page. You can scroll down to view early broadcasts of TV episodes and short clips. You can also browse videos by sport or team.

- Programs without a key icon next to or below them can be streamed immediately without additional information or login.

Select your TV provider. Choose the company that provides your live TV service. This could be your satellite or cable provider (such as Xfinity, Verizon Fios, CenturyLink, DirecTV, Dish) or a live TV streaming service (like Hulu, YouTube TV, Sling).

Use Kodi

Click or tap on Videos. It is located next to an icon resembling a film reel in the left-hand menu.

Click or tap on Video add-ons. This black button features an icon that looks like a film reel.

Click or tap on Options. It is located next to an icon resembling a gear in the bottom-left corner.

Click or tap on Get More. It is located at the bottom of the left-hand options menu.

Scroll down and click or tap on ESPN3. All add-ons are listed in alphabetical order. Scroll down to the Es and click or tap on "ESPN3".

Click or tap on Install. This blue button features an icon resembling a cloud with a downward arrow.

Click or tap on Ok. This button is located in the top-right corner of the window in the center of the screen. This step typically installs the ESPN3 add-on and all necessary dependencies.

Return to the Video Add-ons menu. Press the "Esc" key on your computer or tap the back arrow icon on Android to navigate back to the Video Add-ons menu.

Click or tap on ESPN3. It is listed under Video Add-ons. You can always find ESPN3 and other video add-ons in the Video Add-ons menu.

Click or tap on an ESPN channel. There are multiple ESPN channels listed. Tap on one to load and start watching it in Kodi.
