This article will guide you on how to secure a win in Cup Pong when competing against one of the contacts listed in your iPhone or iPad address book. Cup Pong is an iMessage game (Apple's messaging platform) available through GamePigeon—a free add-on you can download via the iMessage version of the App Store. Once installed, you can use GamePigeon to start playing virtual Cup Pong in real-time with anyone using iMessage.
Steps
Play and Win

- If you haven't installed Game Pigeon (the required iMessage app to play Cup Pong), please refer to the section Installing Cup Pong.

Tap on the conversation with your opponent. You can play Cup Pong with anyone in your contacts, as long as they are using iMessage on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac to message you. You can tell if someone is using iMessage if your messages to them appear in blue bubbles.
- If your messages appear in green bubbles, the person you are messaging will not be able to play Cup Pong with you.

Swipe the icons to the left and tap on Game Pigeon. The icons are located above the keyboard and below the message typing area, and the Game Pigeon icon looks like a joystick on a bird's face.

Scroll down and tap on Cup Pong. This step adds the Cup Pong invitation to the message.

Tap the blue and white arrow to send the message. This arrow is located at the bottom right corner of the message typing area in the conversation. Your opponent will need to tap the invitation to start their turn.
- After your opponent completes their turn, you will see a video of their play along with the text "YOUR TURN".

Tap the Cup Pong video to watch your opponent's turn. This step replays your opponent's turn. When the color of the cups changes, it means it's your turn.

Drag the ball into the middle cups to take your first turn. In each turn, you get two chances to throw the ball into a cup. On your first throw, drag the ball in a straight vertical line—this is a highly effective way to land the ball in one of the middle cups.
- When your ball lands in a cup, that cup is removed from the playing area.
- You earn points for each cup you successfully hit.

Aim slightly to the left or right on your next turn. After your opponent completes their turn, it’s your turn again. This time, swipe in a straight line but angle slightly to the left or right (whichever side has more cups) halfway through your swipe. A key tip for effective throws is to aim carefully, targeting the side with the most cups.
- Aim for the closest cups first rather than the harder ones at the back. This strategy can give you an advantage over opponents who aim for distant cups.
- Before throwing, try visualizing the exact trajectory of the ball to land it in the cup. You can use a straight object, like a ruler or postcard, against the screen to map out the perfect path from the ball to the cup.

Continue playing until you or your opponent has landed balls in all the cups on one side of the table. Remember to swipe gently in the direction of the remaining cups during gameplay.
- Play regularly to improve your aiming and ball control for better results.
- You can keep the game screen open for real-time play or return later by tapping the Cup Pong video in the conversation.
