Mytour will show you how to connect your Windows PC to a TV without needing any cables. If you have a Smart TV with built-in Chromecast or Miracast (modern TVs that aren’t from Apple), you can easily mirror your PC screen to the TV. If your TV doesn’t support Chromecast or Miracast but can connect to Wi-Fi, you can use a streaming device like Roku or a standalone Chromecast to establish a connection between the TV and PC.
Steps
Using Chromecast

Activate TV with Chromecast support. If you’re using an Android TV with Chromecast or a Chromecast device connected to your TV, you can cast any Windows application that supports Chromecast to the screen. Several Windows apps support Chromecast, such as Google Chrome, Netflix, Spotify, and Plex.
- With Google Chrome, you can cast any webpage to the TV, including sites like YouTube, Netflix, and Facebook. Google Chrome also allows you to mirror your entire Windows PC screen.
Connect your PC to the same Wi-Fi network as your TV. Your TV and PC must be connected to the same network in order to use Chromecast.

Open the app or website you want to cast to the TV. For example, if you want to watch YouTube on the TV, open Google Chrome and go to https://www.youtube.com.

Select Cast (Cast). In Google Chrome, click the three-dot menu in the top right corner of the screen and select Cast. The location of the Cast option may vary across different apps but is often represented by a TV icon with three curved lines at the bottom left corner.

Select the content you wish to cast (only applicable with Google Chrome). If you're using Google Chrome, there are several ways to cast:
- Cast the current browser tab: This is the default option, so proceed to the next step.
- Cast your entire screen: Click the downward arrow next to "Cast to" and select Cast desktop.
- Cast a music or video file: Click the downward arrow next to "Cast to", select Cast file, and choose the file you want to play on the TV.

Click on the Smart TV from the list. After selecting, the app, streaming content, file, or open website will be cast to the Smart TV.

Stop casting to the TV. Once you’re done, you can disconnect your PC from the TV.
- On Google Chrome: Click the three-dot menu in the top right corner and select Stop casting.
- On other apps: Pause the content so that the options appear, then click the Cast icon to disconnect.
Using Miracast

Activate TV with Miracast support. If your TV has Miracast (or you’re using a streaming device like Roku or many Amazon Fire TVs that support Miracast), you can connect it to your PC that has built-in Miracast. Depending on the TV or streaming device, you might need to enable Miracast (this feature is also known as Screen Mirroring or Mirroring).
- Use this link to find a searchable list of all TVs that have built-in Miracast.
- Use Roku's product comparison tool to check if your Roku model supports screen mirroring (a feature required for Miracast).

Make sure your PC supports Miracast. Miracast is available on most Windows 8 and 10 laptops and desktops. To check if your PC supports Miracast:
- Open the Windows Search bar and type connect.
- Click on Connect in the search results.
- If you see a message that your computer is ready for wireless connections, you can use Miracast. If you instead see the message "This device doesn't support Miracast", you'll need to try another method (or purchase a Miracast adapter to plug into the HDMI port of your PC).

Connect your PC to the same Wi-Fi network as your TV. Both your TV and PC need to be on the same network for Miracast to work.

Press ⊞ Win+P on your PC. The projection menu will appear.

Select your display option. If you want to mirror your entire PC screen on the TV and still use the TV for other tasks, choose Duplicate. If you only want to use the TV as an extended screen for your PC, select Extend. If multiple screens are connected, you can choose which screen to mirror.

Click on Connect to a wireless display at the end of the list. This option is located at the bottom of the menu.

Click on the TV or streaming device from the list. Depending on the settings, a code may appear on the TV, which you will need to enter on your computer to pair. Once the pairing is completed, the wireless connection will be successfully established.
Stop casting to the TV. Once you're done, you can disconnect your PC from the TV by doing the following:
- Click on the notification icon, the chat bubble icon located at the lower right corner of the screen, near the clock. If there are active notifications, a small number will appear on the icon.
- Select the Disconnect option next to the TV or streaming device name.
Advice
- Wireless connections to a TV screen are often unstable. If you encounter issues, consider using an HDMI cable instead.
- If your TV is not a Smart TV, check whether it has a USB port and supports Wi-Fi. If it does, you can purchase a streaming device such as Chromecast or Roku to use with your computer.
- You can buy a wireless display adapter to fully use your computer on a larger screen.
- If your TV or streaming device doesn’t show up in the list when attempting to cast the screen, ensure that both your PC and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network, and that screen mirroring/streaming options are enabled on both the TV and the streaming device.
