Methods to Join a Fortnite Bot Lobby
- Start a fresh account on a secondary device, team up with your main account, and join a bot lobby meant for new players.
- Use a VPN to trick Fortnite into thinking you're located in an area with fewer players, prompting it to place you in a bot lobby for matchmaking.
- Create a new island in Creative Mode, adding AI enemy spawners such as wildlife, guards, and sentries to fill the map with bots.

Joining Matches Using an Alternate Account
Get a second device that supports Fortnite. The easiest method to access a bot lobby is by joining with a brand-new, low-level account that will be placed into one. New players are gradually introduced to Fortnite, and the game’s matchmaking system places fresh accounts into bot lobbies for practice purposes.
- If you have a second device running Fortnite, you can easily do this yourself, or you can ask a friend to help you out.
- This can be done on various platforms. For example, if you play on Windows, your second device could be anything from a console (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch) to an iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows laptop, or even a second Windows PC.
Install Epic Games Store and Fortnite. If your second device is a Windows or Mac computer, make sure to download the Epic Games Store before installing Fortnite. On consoles (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch), Android, and iPhone, you can simply download Fortnite directly from their respective game or app stores.

Invite your alternate account to your main account's party. By now, you should have two devices, each with its own account in a party. If you plan on using this method frequently to get into bot lobbies, you might want to consider adding the second account as a friend to make it easier to find later on.
Join a Build or No Build mode. Whether you choose Duos, Trios, or Squads, it doesn’t matter. Just make sure both accounts are prepared so you can enter the lobby together.
Have the alt account leave the lobby just before the match starts. Make sure the alt account exits as soon as it spawns on the island to avoid earning any levels or experience.
- Players have noticed that around level 5 is when accounts begin being placed in lobbies with real players. However, the exact level at which this transition occurs can vary, so your alt account may land in real player lobbies earlier or later than level 5.
Using a VPN
Get a VPN if you don’t already have one. A VPN can sometimes help you access bot lobbies by selecting certain locations. You’ll need a VPN that can hide your location and connect to servers across the globe.

Choose a server located in a different country. There are a few options when selecting the right VPN server location for bot lobbies:
- Pick a region with fewer Fortnite players. Countries in the Middle East, South America, and Oceania tend to have fewer players, making bot lobbies more common to balance matchmaking.
- Pick a location where it's late at night. When it's very late, there are fewer players online, increasing the likelihood of bot lobbies. Try connecting to a server in a location where it’s around 3 to 5 a.m. for the best chance.
Launch Fortnite. If you experience high ping while using a VPN, go to the Fortnite settings, find the Language and region section, and set the "Matchmaking Region" to either Auto or the region that best matches your VPN's location.
Playing in Creative Mode
Enter Fortnite Creative Mode. While it’s not exactly a bot lobby, you can still populate your Island map with hostile AI in Creative Mode.
- Keep in mind that these AI are different from the bots found in bot lobbies—they’re not designed to act like players.
Access your Island through the portal in the hub. When you enter Creative Mode, you’ll start in the hub area. From there, you can reach your Island map by running through the glowing portal.
Open your Island map settings. The process for this varies by platform:
- Windows and Mac: Press the M key
- PlayStation: Tap the touchpad
- Xbox: Press the toggle view button (the small button next to the jewel button, which looks like two rectangles)
- Nintendo Switch: Press the minus (-) button
Navigate to Content. This menu contains all the objects you can place on your Island map.
Search for "enemy" in the search bar on the left. All objects tagged as "enemy" will appear. You can use these spawners and other tools to introduce various enemies to your map.
Place enemy AI on your map. Drop the spawners where you'd like the enemies to appear.
- Before finishing your map, remember to add some buildings and item spawners to give yourself weapons and hiding spots for when the enemy AI arrives.
Open the Creative menu and click Start Game. This will instantly start a new match on your Creative Mode map. If you'd like to adjust your game settings, just go back to the Island menu and select the Island Settings option.

However, it seems Epic Games has discontinued the use of matchmaking bots due to user reports from Reddit. As a result, methods that involved joining bot lobbies with the help of matchmaking bots are now obsolete and no longer work.
