Al-Sadiq directed him to rest his hand on the affected area and recite this verse three times: “Surely it is a Book Sublime. Falsehood comes not to it from before it nor from behind it. A revelation from One All-wise, All-laudable” (41:41-42).

Supplication for Back Aches As narrated in the Quran, a man from Hamdan suffered from intense back pain that disrupted his sleep. He sought help from Amir al-Mu'minin, who instructed him: “Place your hand on the painful spot and recite this verse three times: ‘It is not given to any soul to die save by the leave of God, at an appointed time. - English translation: “If anyone is afflicted with illness, say: 'Our Lord is Allah, who is above the heavens, glorified is Your name. Your command governs both the heavens and the earth, just as Your mercy is in the heavens, place Your mercy upon the earth. Forgive our transgressions and sins. You are the Lord of the righteous. Send down mercy from Your mercy and a healing from Your healing upon this pain so it may be cured.'”
