- Choose Network (this might be inside All Settings).
- Pick your Wi-Fi network.
- Type in your Wi-Fi password.

Tap the "Menu" button on your remote. This brings up the settings menu.

- For older TVs, select System instead.

Choose Check for Updates. You may be prompted to confirm by selecting Yes. If there's an update, it’ll begin downloading on its own.
- Let the TV download without interruptions—avoid turning it off or opening other apps.
- Once the download finishes, your TV will reboot and start installing the update.
- It will restart again once everything’s done.
USB Update Method

Grab the latest firmware for your TV model. If your Vizio TV isn’t online or if you don’t have internet access, you can still update it using a USB stick. Just download the new firmware on your computer, save it to a USB drive, and update your TV manually. Here's how:
- First, locate your TV’s serial number from one of these places:
- A sticker on the back of your TV.
- On-screen via Settings > All Settings > Help > Admin & Privacy > System Information > TV information, next to "TV SN".
- Inside the Vizio app: Tap the arrow next to your TV name, then the info icon (a circled “i”), and find the serial.
- Visit Vizio's Firmware Search in your browser.
- Enter your serial number and hit Get Firmware Data.
- If no update appears, your TV might be too old for updates.
- Click click here to go to your model’s firmware download page.
- Select Click Here to Download the Most Current Firmware Version and follow the prompts.

Unzip the download to a USB flash drive. The firmware package contains two files you’ll need to move to a USB stick. Vizio recommends a 2 GB drive formatted as FAT.
- For Windows: Right-click the ZIP file, choose Extract All, click Browse to pick your USB drive, then hit Extract.
- On Mac: Double-click the ZIP to open it, then drag the files to your USB drive in Finder.

Reset your TV to factory settings. To reset, press the “Menu” button and go to Admin & Privacy > Reset to factory settings.
- Older TVs might require selecting System or All Settings first.

Plug in the USB once your TV enters setup mode. Wait until your TV is ready before inserting the USB. A message will appear at the top of your screen saying the software is being installed.
- The TV will shut off and power back on, showing a progress bar. When it reaches 100%, it’ll reboot once more.

Confirm the update was successful. Press the "Menu" button on your remote, then navigate to System > System Information. Make sure the "Version" listed (not the "Cast Version") matches the latest one shown on Vizio's support page.
