Whether you find yourself reluctantly stuck somewhere (like in class, at the dentist, in court, etc.), or you're impatiently waiting for something, you can use the following ideas to pass the time until your class ends, your appointment starts, or you're busy with something else. Check out these ideas to make time fly by faster!
Steps
Do something

Dance! You can invite others to join or dance alone! If you're in a place where dancing isn't convenient, create a dance in your head to the song you love!

Take a short nap. It may sound boring, but you could end up having a beautiful dream, and time will fly by while you sleep. When you wake up, you’ll feel refreshed and more ready for the day!

Reorganize your movie collection. You can arrange your movies by genre, title, or color. If you're not near your collection, try ranking your favorite films in your mind or watch an episode of a show you like.

Write a song. Create a song about something you love to do. If you can’t come up with a melody, you can borrow one from a song you enjoy!

Invent your own language. You can make up your own language and speak it. Try convincing others that it's a real language. You’ll need to write out some basic rules so you can remember them. Try pretending that you don’t understand the language everyone else is using around you.

Clean or decorate your room. This might seem dull at first, but once you get started, time will pass quickly.
Use your imagination

Engage in a fictional conversation. Plug your ears and imagine a random situation where people are chatting with each other in everyday life. You can think of something silly, spontaneous, or create a scene like when people talk about their lives on TV. Use their body language and expressions as inspiration for your story.

Imagine you are a secret agent. Focus on the room you're in and pretend you're a spy who's just been discovered. Hurry up! Think of as many ways as possible to escape and shake off the villains chasing you!

Put yourself in someone else's shoes. Try to guess what the people around you are thinking. You can randomly pick someone or make it a bit more realistic. If you like, you could even create a story where you’re a mutant with psychic powers on a mission to find the evil spy hiding among them.

Divide up supernatural powers. Imagine which supernatural power would suit each person in the room. Creatively assign them useful powers. Then, try to come up with superhero names for them.

Imagine a lost loved one. Picture yourself having a conversation with them. What would they say about your life now? What would they tell you about their life in the afterlife?

Visualize an entirely new world. Imagine the current world with huge changes, like what your life would be like if vampires ruled over various lands? What would happen if sharks could talk?
Have fun

Play a game. You can play by yourself or with others. There are many free online video games available, or you can play paper-and-pen games.
- You could play tic-tac-toe.
- If you have your computer with you and want to kill time, you could try playing the popular game Battle Toads.

Watch a new TV show. Try watching a TV show you’ve never seen before or one you never thought you'd watch. You can find many free shows on YouTube.

Pull a prank. Pranking someone can be fun, but it's best to do it on a friend because the reaction of a stranger is harder to predict. You could:
- Change the language settings on your friend's phone.
- Spread a layer of cream cheese or white chocolate on your roommate's deodorant stick.

Draw a comic strip. You can try drawing a comic about your own life. You don’t need to be a skilled artist; many popular comics were created with simple sketch-like strokes!

Read a book. Reading can be very enjoyable! Try picking up a book you didn’t think you’d like—you might change your mind! Books can transport you to entirely new worlds. Or, instead of something uninteresting, you could choose to read something you personally find intriguing.
Be productive

Use the internet! You can browse through Mytour to read the best articles or even pick a topic you’re knowledgeable about and contribute to an article! Alternatively, you could check out other entertaining sites like Wikipedia, Boing Boing, or Reddit.

Health Training. You can try some basic stretching, squats, brisk walking, or even jumping... there's no need for high-intensity workouts. Just a little movement can make you feel more energetic, and time will pass by much quicker.

Make Friends. Try to make friends with those who are nearby, even if they're not the type you'd usually hang out with. Who knows, you may get along better than you expect!

Write a Dream. Jot down 10 things you want to accomplish in life in a creative way. You'll enjoy both your wild dreams and the more practical ideas you come up with.
Advice
- If you're sitting in class, be careful not to let the teacher notice you're not paying attention.

- If you're at home and want time to go by faster, try browsing the internet and learning something new, like learning to dance or discovering life hacks. You could also be creative—decorate, paint, or write a fictional story with your own characters.
- Don't keep glancing at the clock.
- If you're carrying a phone or electronic device, you can play video games to pass the time or browse the internet and use social media.
