How to Interpret a Frigidaire Model Number

Frigidaire model numbers consist of a series of product code identifiers. These codes provide detailed information about your appliance, including specific features and color. Unfortunately, Frigidaire does not offer a public guide explaining the meanings of the codes in their model numbers.
How to Determine the Age of Your Appliance

The age of your appliance is encoded in the serial number, not the model number. Fortunately, the serial number is usually found on the same sticker as the model number. Many newer Frigidaire appliances display the manufacture date along with the serial and model numbers, but if not, you can figure it out using the serial number.
- For Electrolux-branded appliances, the third, fourth, and fifth digits of the serial number indicate the manufacture date.
- The third digit represents the last number of the year the appliance was made. For instance, if it's '1', the appliance could have been manufactured in 2021, 2011, 2001, or 1991.
- To pinpoint the exact year, use your judgment based on the appliance’s condition and design.
- The fourth and fifth digits reveal the week the appliance was produced. For example, '15' means it was made during the 15th week of the year.
- Look up the corresponding dates for that week. In the case of '15', it could be early April.
- If the manufacturing week spans two months, pick the month where the majority of that week falls.
- If the model number sticker displays a GM logo, the appliance was made before 1979. However, appliances with this logo lack a clear date code in their serial numbers.
