So far, we’ve published roughly seven lists focusing on conspiracy theories or related topics. This latest compilation is a much-anticipated update, arriving after a significant hiatus since our previous one. Such lists never fail to intrigue, as conspiracy theories, often laced with mystery, are endlessly captivating. The world is teeming with these theories, and this certainly won’t be the final compilation of its kind.
10. Ararat Anomaly

Theories about the Ararat Anomaly originated from a single black-and-white photograph captured in 1949 by a USAF reconnaissance plane conducting routine intelligence operations over the Ararat massif, a region of military significance at the time. This iconic image depicts a section of Mount Ararat, just 1300 feet below the summit, blanketed in snow, with an unusual object perched precariously on the edge of a steep slope.
Conspiracy theorists, particularly Biblical literalists, argue that the peculiar object is Noah’s Ark, which the Bible mentions “rested on the mountains of Ararat” following the Great Flood. Since the Bible refers to “mountains” in plural, the debate continues: “Which specific mountain in the region?” Mount Ararat stands as the highest peak in the Armenian Plateau, but the entire area spanning Eastern Turkey and Western Armenia is mountainous. Mount Ararat itself consists of two peaks, with the primary one dominating the surrounding landscape.
The anomaly seems to be a smooth, elongated shape perched precariously on a slope, encased in ice and snow. Its intriguing nature has sparked significant interest from the U.S. government, leading to the use of planes and satellites to capture multiple images of it. However, not all of these images, according to the theory, have been released to the public. The best publicly available views can be found online for free, and the anomaly strikingly resembles a massive boat, measuring roughly 1,000 feet in length and 200 to 300 feet in width, aligning closely with the Biblical description of the Ark.
A detailed view of the anomaly reveals two sets of three “prongs,” one on each end, giving it an unmistakably man-made appearance. The reason behind the U.S. government’s reluctance to disclose more than what is already available remains unclear. The theory suggests that doing so would require declassifying top-secret spy satellites, potentially sparking widespread media backlash over privacy concerns. While the U.S. possesses satellites capable of capturing images of a postage stamp from 600 miles above, no such high-resolution photos of the anomaly have been released.
9. Suppression of The Cathars

Catharism, a Christian sect akin to Gnosticism, has a complex history too extensive to detail here. Its prominence spanned from the 11th to the 14th centuries, during which Cathars across Europe provoked the Roman Catholic Church to such an extent that the Church initially attempted peaceful conversion. When these efforts failed, they launched the Albigensian Crusade, a brutal 20-year campaign against the Cathar movement. In 1209, the fortress of Beziers endured a prolonged siege, culminating in a Catholic victory and the massacre of every inhabitant—men, women, and children—totaling between 7,000 and 20,000 lives. The army’s leader famously declared, “Kill them all. The Lord will recognize His own.”
Ultimately, the Cathars were thoroughly suppressed. But why did the Catholic Church resort to such extreme measures? According to the theory, the Cathars possessed sacred texts, such as The Book of the Two Principles and the Gospel of the Secret Supper, which contradicted Catholic doctrine. These texts suggested that Jesus taught reincarnation, denied the existence of Heaven and Hell, identified the Old Testament God as Satan, and distinguished Almighty God as either Jesus or His Heavenly Father. These beliefs align with Gnosticism. The most startling claim is that Jesus may have affirmed reincarnation, prompting speculation about his potential return and current identity. These Cathar-exclusive texts, often categorized under Gnosticism, are now commercially available.
8. Nibiru Collision

This theory connects to the 2012 Doomsday predictions, proposing the existence of a Jupiter-sized planet called Nibiru or Planet X, currently located near the Asteroid Belt between Mars and Jupiter. It is said to be on a collision course with Earth, set for 2012. The theory alleges that the IRAS infrared satellite, launched in 1983, captured an image of this planet, which was leaked online in 2009. NASA dismissed the photograph, claiming it depicted nine galaxies and intergalactic cirrus, with no other objects visible.
The theory further asserts that the U.S. government financed the creation of an advanced telescope at the South Pole to capture images of Nibiru and monitor its trajectory. NASA describes this telescope as a radio telescope incapable of taking pictures, but the theory dismisses this explanation, insisting that Nibiru remains hidden because it is currently positioned behind the Sun.
Debunking this theory is impossible, not due to its potential validity, but because conspiracy theories inherently disregard governmental authority, particularly that of the U.S. Any attempt to refute evidence supporting Nibiru’s existence is instantly dismissed as deceit. According to the theory, Nibiru is approaching, and its collision with Earth will result in total destruction.
7. 2005 London Bombings

On July 7, 2005, at 8:50 AM, three suicide bombers—two of Pakistani origin and one of Jamaican descent—detonated explosives on three separate subway trains, resulting in the deaths of 42 people, including the bombers. Less than an hour later, at 9:47 AM, a fourth bomber caused an explosion on the number 30 double-decker bus in Tavistock Square, killing 14 people, including himself. These details were widely reported in news coverage in the aftermath of the attacks.
Conspiracy theorists remain unconvinced by the official narrative. They argue that the four alleged bombers were not responsible, nor were they bombers at all, but rather innocent civilians caught in the tragedy alongside the other victims. According to the theory, the true perpetrators were members of the UK government’s security agencies, including MI5, with knowledge extending to Prime Minister Tony Blair and even the Queen.
Why would such a cover-up occur? Al-Qaeda claimed responsibility in a post-attack video aired on Al Jazeera, but British authorities revealed the video had been edited after the attacks to include the claims. While the bombers were officially unlinked to al-Qaeda, the theory cites this video as one of many pieces of evidence suggesting foul play.
Once the idea of a “cover-up” is introduced into a conspiracy theory, interpretations often diverge widely. Governments, after all, may have countless secrets to hide. Some theorists suggest evidence of extraterrestrial activity on the subway trains and the number 30 bus, while others propose collusion between the British government and al-Qaeda (despite efforts to suppress the video). One particularly bizarre sub-theory claims the four “bombers” were actually tabloid photographers who had captured compromising images of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, the future wife of Prince William, in an inappropriate situation with Queen Elizabeth’s horses. This is no joke—it’s a genuine branch of this conspiracy theory.
6. Operation Alsos

This theory focuses on Samuel Abraham Goudsmit (1902-1978), a nuclear physicist who led Operation Alsos, a division of the Manhattan Project. While the U.S. prioritized surpassing the Nazis in developing the atomic bomb, they also aimed to obstruct German progress. Goudsmit’s role was crucial in gathering intelligence on how close the Germans were to achieving their nuclear ambitions.
The Allies effectively hindered Nazi efforts by targeting ball bearing plants, essential for machinery operation. As the Nazis pursued nuclear research, Goudsmit established a spy network to monitor their progress. Officially, his reports claimed the Germans were far from success, but this conspiracy theory suggests a darker truth.
According to the theory, Goudsmit uncovered that Nazi scientists, led by Otto Hahn and Werner Heisenberg, had either built the bomb or mastered the necessary technology, with Hitler planning to target London. To counter this, Goudsmit informed the U.S. government, which opted to bribe the scientists rather than bomb their facilities, as their exact locations remained unknown. Post-war discoveries of numerous German laboratories confirmed the impracticality of bombing.
Goudsmit was allegedly provided millions to persuade Nazi scientists to defect to the U.S., bringing their research, materials, and the bomb. These scientists collaborated with Robert Oppenheimer, Enrico Fermi, and Edward Teller, enabling the U.S. to complete its fission research and develop atomic bombs. The theory asserts that the Trinity Test on July 16, 1945, was actually the detonation of the original Nazi bomb.
5. Disclosure Project

Steven Greer is the central figure in this theory, which encompasses all known extraterrestrial conspiracies and takes them a step further. Greer asserts that he has been contacted by aliens bearing positive news. In 1992, he established the Project as a gathering for others who claim similar extraterrestrial encounters (similar to what Trekkers do).
This Project holds annual meetings in various U.S. cities, which are entirely public and even include some high-ranking government agents as members. Their goal is to push the U.S. government to reveal the truth about extraterrestrial life and remove the veil of secrecy.
The theory’s added twist is Greer’s claim that the aliens’ message is one of peace and collaboration. They are reportedly en route from multiple distant planets to share advanced scientific, medical, and cultural knowledge. A key aspect of their message is that a shared historical event exists across planets: a member of each planet’s most intelligent species was unjustly killed to absolve the sins of others. This theory is as intriguing as it gets, with speculation pointing to 2012 as a potential arrival date.
4. President’s Book of Secrets

This theory, featured in the film *National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets*, suggests that U.S. Presidents have maintained a secret book passed down from George Washington to Barack Obama. Each President has allegedly added groundbreaking facts and histories to this book, which is known only to the sitting President and the National Librarian of Congress. In the event of a President’s assassination, the Librarian informs the successor of the book’s location, which is changed after each administration.
The book is said to contain revelations about extraterrestrial encounters at Roswell, NM, and Rendlesham Air Base, UK, as well as other UFO incidents. It also allegedly holds the truth behind the assassinations of JFK and RFK, the location of the Holy Grail (linking to the Fort Knox conspiracy), the post-WWII fates of high-ranking Nazis (including U.S. government involvement), and even the identity of the Antichrist. If the book exists and identifies the Antichrist, it raises questions about the President’s alignment with or opposition to this figure. More chillingly, the theory claims the book predicted the September 11, 2001 attacks and foretells a Russian coup, followed by a Russo-North Korean invasion of South Korea, potentially sparking World War III.
3. Grand Grimoire

This theory revolves around the existence of the so-called “Grand Grimoire,” also known as “The Red Dragon” or the “Gospel of Satan.” The Roman Catholic Church officially acknowledges owning this book but has never allowed public access. Discovered in Jerusalem in 1750 within Solomon’s tomb, it is written in Biblical Hebrew or Aramaic. While the manuscript’s origins are not definitively dated earlier than 1750, the book itself bears an inscription from 1522 AD. Theorists argue it was copied in that year from a manuscript dating back to the 1200s or earlier.
The earliest evidence of the Grimoire comes from the writings of Honorius of Thebes, whose existence remains unproven. Some speculate he may have been Pope Honorius III (1148-1227). Honorius is believed to have authored the “Sworn Book of Honorius,” which either inspired the Grand Grimoire or is the Grimoire itself.
The theory posits that Honorius was either Satan incarnate or possessed by Satan to write the book. It allegedly contains instructions for summoning Satan anywhere on Earth for malicious purposes. The term “grimoire” refers to a magical textbook, encompassing both benevolent and malevolent spells. While many counterfeit versions exist worldwide, the theory asserts that none contain the true contents of the original Grimoire. It holds significant influence in Haitian voodoo culture, where practitioners use it as a guide for spells and curses.
Theorists claim the Grand Grimoire possesses supernatural qualities, making it impervious to fire, cutting, piercing, tearing, or any form of destruction. It is said to be the only authentic text capable of summoning Satan, with precise rituals outlined within. Additionally, it can summon specific demons, including Pazuzu from *The Exorcist*. Allegedly written by Satan, it provides evidence of biblical miracles, locations of sacred relics, and even sketches of Judas Iscariot and Jesus Christ. The theory further suggests that every Pope, upon election, becomes possessed by Satan due to the Church’s possession of the Grimoire.
The 1989 film *Warlock*, starring Julian Sands as the potential Antichrist, features the Grimoire as a central plot device. The film claims the Grimoire contains God’s secret name, which, when spoken backward, can destroy the universe. The name revealed in the film is “Roaisha.” While this detail was likely invented by screenwriter David Twohy, conspiracy theorists have embraced it, asserting that all claims about the Grimoire are based on verifiable facts contained within the book itself.
So where is the Grimoire? As you might expect, it’s said to be housed in the Vatican Secret Archives.
2. Cure for Everything

This theory appears to draw inspiration from a passage in Michael Crichton’s renowned novel *The Andromeda Strain*. In the book, a character reveals the existence of a classified U.S. government-funded medical project that allegedly developed a single drug capable of not only halting bacterial reproduction in the human body but also eradicating all known biological and viral pathogens without significant harm to the host.
Despite its fictional origins, conspiracy theorists argue that Crichton was revealing factual information disguised as fiction. The unnamed drug is described as causing minimal side effects, such as diarrhea, due to its elimination of beneficial gut bacteria. It purportedly cures cancer within days and eradicates diseases like AIDS, syphilis, Herpes Simplex I and II, Rabies Encephalitis, and every other known illness.
The character in the story explains that the drug was nearly released to the public until doctors withdrew it after several months of use. Patients who stopped taking the drug died within weeks from unprecedented diseases causing catastrophic effects: brains liquefied, rapid cancer spread across all organs, liver failure, and more. The cause? The drug rendered the immune system unnecessary, causing it to shut down. When the drug was discontinued, the immune system failed to reactivate, leaving the body defenseless against normally harmless bacteria and viruses, leading to devastating infections.
While this narrative comes from Crichton’s novel, conspiracy theorists argue that such a drug exists, was tested on humans, and was withdrawn for a different reason: it drastically reduced visits to doctors. The theory alleges that the American Medical Association, driven by greed, suppressed the drug to protect its financial interests, as its release would render medical practices obsolete.
1. Osama bin Laden is Alive

This theory emerged swiftly after the Navy SEAL raid on bin Laden’s compound, suggesting he either survived the attack or was never there. The theory gained traction when the White House declined to release photos of his body. Critics argue that releasing such evidence would have demonstrated justice served, fueling speculation about the truth behind his alleged death.
Conspiracy theorists demanded the release of the photos, but they are unlikely to ever be made public. The President justified the decision by stating that releasing such images would be akin to kicking a man when he’s down, and it would contradict the U.S. government’s desire to project fairness and moral superiority to the world. The sentiment behind withholding the photos was to demonstrate that “we are above such barbarism.”
Without photographic evidence, many continue to dismiss the official narrative as fabricated. Politicians described the photo as extremely graphic, with bin Laden’s forehead obliterated and brain matter visible. According to the theory, these politicians are complicit in the cover-up. If bin Laden is indeed alive, theorists speculate he is hiding not in the Tora Bora mountains but in the most unexpected place: the United States itself.
